UPDATE - Received a response to our complaint from the Sales Director. My partner and I are very happy with the resulting conversation and follow-up site visits. Moving the rating up to 3-stars solely due to the disappointing start.

Our experience with Graeme, the sales representative for the Airie development, was truly disappointing. On Saturday, we arrived at 3 pm and were taken aback when he abruptly closed the office, attributing it to owed hours from his early 9 am start, which involved helping someone move in. During our interaction, he appeared visibly frustrated and directed his anger towards us, two potential customers seeking a new home. This frustration surfaced when I pointed out the website, which prominently states a 4 pm closing time, suggesting that it might be worth updating.

Graeme suggested that we "should've made an appointment" and that "you can't just turn up." However, Northstone's website explicitly encourages visitors to "Book a visit to see our beautiful show homes in person or simply call in.". This information is placed prominently under a header that says "We’d love to welcome you for a brew!".

Right from the beginning, Graeme's demeanour was dismissive. It's important to note that his early start was not our fault, and it was disappointing that he chose to take this out on prospective customers. We were unable to view any show homes, and as a result of Graeme's behaviour, Northstone has now found a place on our "avoid" list.

Just for clarity, we were not first-time buyers; we previously purchased from a large volume builder 3-4 years ago. We were exploring whether a smaller builder would provide a more personal experience and better-quality construction.

We have already emailed a formal complaint to Northstone (I did this from the visitor parking bay out of sheer frustration) and are eagerly awaiting their response.

Had the most rudest experience ever me and my partner had turned up to look at the show home (because we were looking for our second home) at 3pm because the website said they were open till 4pm and the salesman was complaining that he’d been there since 9am and acting like we’d personally made him come in at that time and was owed 2 hours so he was going home to which he then had a go at my partner for daring to just drop in (which the website says you can do)

Safe to say just from that experience we’ve been put off buying a house from Northstone completely just from that one interaction
