Reviews of Home Counties Architectural Services
Amanda Howe
Brian did a great job with our drawings, planning application and the necessary calculations that go with building extensions. He was very patient with us, making the changes and amendments as and when we needed and provided great advice and support throughout the process. We always recommend Brian for his architectural services, as we receive many compliments on the design of our extension (front, side and rear of the property, including loft conversion).

Brian is highly professional, responsive, friendly and offered some great advice on the design of our extension which improved the end result. He produced all of our drawings, and managed a seamless process for us! Very happy with the outcome and would highly recommend him!
Caroline O'Leary
Absolutely outstanding service from Brian. Literally provided an intricate drawing within 48 hours that was perfect. Was the best quote in the area and will definitely recommend to everyone!
Kevin Woodstock
Really pleased with the work Brian did for us! We found him very knowledgeable and made the whole process extremely easy for us. His recommendations for the plans were very welcome and really helped us work out what to do.
His communication throughout the whole build was at a high level and the service he offered added that extra touch which took a lot of stress off the whole thing.
I highly recommend Home Counties Architectural Services.

Brian created a perfect plan for our extension. Was punctual, always on hand for questions no matter how silly, got on well with our builder to ensure the work went smoothly and helped us find quality tradesmen when needed, can’t recommend enough!

My Company GDS Construction been using Brian for nearly a decade now hundreds and hundreds of builds been done found brian really easy to get hold of any changes that the customer wants to make he is there he is very efficient and we found him very well to work with he is a great architect.
Joanne Nicholson
We were really pleased with the plans Brian produced for us. He took on board our requirements and came up with some new ideas and advice about what would work best in the design. Brian also provided an excellent service throughout the project from applying for planning permission and building regulations to organising a structural engineer and liaising with our builder. Would highly recommend.

Not An Architect
Beware that people who offer architectural services may not be architects. This can cause issues if a complaint is raised, as they are not covered by a regulatory body. Unfortunately we fell into this trap with Mr Strong who is not a registered architect and charged us £1000 but did not complete the work quoted for and refused to provide a refund. Unfortunately we had errors to our architectural drawings, there were discrepancies in the fire safety, his communication with the council and our builder was lacking and his recommendations for trades people unfortunately caused large build delays due to no shows. I hope that this review will help you avoid the same mistakes we did with our house extension by using a registered professional.
Just as an update post the response. As we have found with interacting with Mr Stone, he lacks the ability to take any responsibility for his errors. The building regulations, part L that updated the insulation requirements for homes changed in June 2022 and our plans were drawn in October 2022 and therefore this was an error and meant that our wall would need to be demolished to add further insulation. Instead we had to pay an additional cost to offset the error in the rest of our house! Instead of taking responsibility for this, as you can see further excuses keep being made!
