We were looking for a builder to undertake significant renovations to our property and were recommended to contact Jamie at RJ Construction by Knightley Architecture in Wadebridge. Jamie came to meet us and we discussed at length all that needed to be done - initially knocking two rooms into one to make a kitchen/diner, new bathrooms and ceiling windows upstairs. This sounds relatively simple but we live in an 1840's cottage which has been added to over the years and thus the project morphed into a much more extensive renovation than originally thought! This resulted in walls & chimney being knocked out, new insulation throughout the weathered inside wall of the cottage, new bathrooms, a new ceiling and windows in said new kitchen, new fitted wardrobes, revamped heating and new boiler and an almost complete rewire together with some other challenges along the way which were not apparent at the outset of the renovation! Throughout Jamie took up the role of project manager liaising with all the other craftsmen that were needed to complete the job - plumber, electrician, carpenter etc - and working well with Watermill Kitchens who installed the actual kitchen carpentry. Jamie and his team (particularly his foreman Darren) were all great communicators, trustworthy and very professional always listening to our views and discussing next steps. Overall the whole project took just over 6 months to complete and we are absolutely thrilled with the results. We would have no hesitation in recommending RJ Construction to anyone who was looking for a builder in Cornwall.
