We recently purchased a home in Florida, and the home inspector we hired noticed some cracks in the floor. After getting two different opinions from structural repair companies that included several options to “fix” this problem, ranging in cost from $3,700 to $20,000, we decided to hire an independent structural engineer to find out exactly what was going on. We contacted four different engineering firms; when three of them found out we just wanted an independent inspection and not a sales pitch to do repairs, we never heard from them again. Universal Engineering followed up with us, Al Ali contacted me and we scheduled and inspection. He arrived on time and immediately assessed the situation. He conducted a thorough inspection and promptly sent me his report with recommendations and the receipt for services performed.
