I’ve been singed on to optimum skills for over a year now.
I used to be a cook before I joined in October of last year. Since then I haven’t gotten work apart from one site for two months. Two of which were unpaid.
Since then they have left me in the dark and left me penniless unable to see my daughter who unfortunately lives on the other side of the country.
Now the tutors themself are mint people.
However thier admin and team who take the calls and find you apprenticeships are awful.

Unfortunately I have no choice but to go back to kitchen work after this wasted year. Want my verdict? Don’t bother.

My experience at this construction academy was really positive, both the work place were really safe and tidy and the tutors were really welcoming and understanding toward your work and your struggles with not understanding something yourself.

Class construction academy, good bunch of staff easy to get along with. Scott, Nathan and Terry are helpful teachers and give you ample opportunity to work, learn and understand subjects!

Optimum skills is a very useful place to be the tutors help you with a range of different skills and techniques, they will be as lenient as possible and give you the best that they can give.

Happy with the course and the tutors (Nathan and Scott) are mint they take time and explain everything clearly and go through it 1 on 1 if you still don’t understand and it’s hands on work not sitting reading a bit of paper all day so you learn a lot more

Whilst I have been here I had the option of 3 trades I did not like joinery or roofing but bricklaying is really well I learned how to fully put up a capable wall also Nathan has been really helpful with showing me what to do whilst I learn my chosen trade

I learned a variety of different skills at this academy. Had lots of help of Nathan he helped me every step of the way teaching me “plumb“ “level “ and “gage “would highly recommend coming to improve your skills and become an apprentice in any 3 chosen trades .
