We've been collaborating with Jonathan Turvey on several Flood Risk Assessments at FPS Environmental, and it’s been a fantastic experience. Managed the refurbishment and small extension to a grade 2 listed cottage including drawing plans, extensive negotiations to gain listed building consent within inflexible interpretation of guidelines from the local Council and project management of the build.

Tom and Phil renovated a very tired three bedroom, detached, Art Deco house in Swanage for us.

Phil suggested turning the house upside down to take account of the views. Miraculously they squeezed three bedrooms, an ensuite and a family bathroom downstairs. Upstairs we now have an open- plan kitchen-diner-living room and utility-toilet. The best thing is the wall of windows looking over Swanage, the Downs and the sea.

With Phil and Tom’s help we awarded the tender to JA Construction who did a fabulous job, delivered in six months.

We are so grateful and especially enjoy our visitors’ “Wow” when they see the house.

We are currently midway through a significant renovation and extension project to our cob cottage which was designed by WDA. Their support and judgment has been first class all the way, especially in guiding us through planning. They are there when we need snippets of advice during the build (in progress) without overwhelming us or the project in anyway. It's been a really positive process so far, and we are hugely excited to see the end result later in the year.

We have recently worked with WDA on two small projects at our home and they are the architectural practice responsible for the original design of our house, which was completed in 2017.

They are approachable, professional and easy people to work with. Having now “lived” with the original design for our home we appreciate the thought and care that went into the design. The company has a good feel for working on contemporary properties or those with interesting features even when located in rural locations.

Our experience with Western Design Architects (WDA) in one word is Fantastic thus for the second project(currently under process) choosing an architect was easy, go with WDA. If one has challenging ideas/projects then WDA and Matt will make it happen.
We have approached many architects for our first project, which was to demolish the existing house and building 2 detached houses which were complex as what I wanted was not understood and the possibility to achieve is not seen with the number of square feet of built-up area achievable. Matt had understood very clearly. Matt came in to see the site (90 miles) to provide a quote. The quote was the longest and £ terms on the higher side (not highest) among the quotes I had received. I was assured that as long as I do not keep changing the design spec quotes. WDA had been thorough and professional all through the design phase, pre-planning application and representing at the planning committee. I can say every £ is worthwhile. For the first project, I thank Lucy too for going the extra mile to support Vaastu. Lucy researched to incorporate some aspects of design.
