We recently contracted Batchelor Construction to deliver our kitchen extension in Nottinghamshire.

The works involved significant structural alterations to our Victorian house, reconfiguration of the internal space, adding new build flat roof extension, and some external and restoration works, all while our family lived in the house.

They impressed us on every level, from the quality of their work and attention to detail to their work rate and ethic, always approaching everything in a positive way and focussing on finding solutions rather than problems.

Communication was great from the outset, with clear and prompt responses to calls/emails and any queries, as well as regular updates as the works progressed and setting out clearly what each upcoming phase of the work involved.

The quotation was competitive and prices for additional work that we requested and added through the course of the project were discussed and reasonable prices agreed as we progressed, meaning that the final bill was exactly as we expected.

The team are a genuinely nice bunch of guys too, they were considerate in ensuring that the site was tidy, safe and secure and showed a genuine interest in delivering our build to the highest standard, exactly as we wanted it.

We are extremely happy with what they have built for us and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a builder to deliver their project.

Can’t fault them - start to finish. I reached out to Batchelor Construction after seeing their work on another house locally in Lincoln, as I was looking for a kitchen/dining room knock through for a 1930s semi. Tom was very professional, firstly visiting to do a quote with clear and competitive pricing. I had plenty of questions but he put my mind at ease with his knowledge of this type of work. It was going to require a steal beam or lintel install after getting structural engineer drawings. He kept in regular touch via email once we’d confirmed to go ahead with the work, including another visit to make sure they had everything for the job.

The team arrived as planned on the day and delivered as agreed, plus a couple of extra jobs we’d requested in the meantime. Their work was tidy throughout, being mindful it was our current home. Although a messy job they did their best to limit noise and dust - even covers outside. At the end of the day, Tom talked me through their work (which is a smart finish) and the team left it spotless. I had organised for building control to visit a few days later who were happy too.

As mentioned, couldn’t fault them and me and my wife would be very happy to recommend based on our experience. Really pleasant team who clearly cared about their work, thanks!

Tom built us a garden wall and laid a beautiful sandstone patio - a little sun trap in our back garden. The wall and patio are perfect and we couldn't be happier with our little oasis.
