Superb! From the first conversation to the finished works, Chris, Matt and Jay have been fantastic.
Building projects is not what I do. So trying to manage a home out building construction with full services (mains water, sewerage, electrics and internet 🙂 ) was daunting at first.
The guys though know what they are doing and helped me navigate all the paper work. Worked with the inspectors to ensure everything was done to regulation.
Plus along with delivering to a high calibre finish, they also kept the whole place neat and tidy throughout, which is much appreciated by my family and our neighbours.

After a poor installation of top soil / drainage by the original developer the lawn gradually got worse year after year.

Core Groundworks York Ltd visited my garden and provided me a couple of options to bring my garden back to life. Option 1 new drains and re-turf and option 2 Astro-turf.
With having a female dog and a 6 year old football fanatic son we decided to go with Astro-turf.
What i was most impressed with was their eye for detail. Making sure the job was finished to a high standard.
As well as the new lawn we wanted our existing paved patio extending and the paved walkway around the house squaring off. Core Groundworks York Ltd made sure the paving matched to the best of their ability. To do this they relocated existing paving to some of the new areas and added new in its place to get the best match. It was apparent some of the existing paving didn't match from one side to the other.
With the slight step in levels between neighbouring properties they adapted the existing fence to give a nice clean edge detail where the Astro-turf met the fence. They offered me recessed man-hole lids to hide the man-holes and cut the paving perfectly around others while adding colour to the mortar to make is match the paving.
After every day the garden was kept clean, safe and organised. They made sure the sub-base was complete ready for the weekend (which happened to be the hottest this year) and allowed us to still use the garden with the kids.

As a person who works in the Construction Industry as a Designer it was great to see the effort Core Groundworks York Ltd give. They are very polite and come to site professionally dressed every day. Even when it was 30 degrees.

Since the garden has been completed it has brought great joy to the house. I have always been a lawn man who gets great satisfaction from cutting the lawn, smelling the fresh cut grass and looking at the stripes. Unfortunately this was never going to be the case.
The Astro-turf has provided an extension to the house. It offers a clean environment which properly drains. My son played football in the rain the other day and he loved it and he only need to get dry, the lawn still looked perfect. The multiple colours in the Astro-turf make the lawn look very similar to real grass. The only reason it doesn't look like a lawn is because it looks perfect (no weeds, clover and moss etc.).

Matt and Wez did a fantastic job this week of putting ground drainage into my back garden, I have had 4 years of problems with flooding/surface water since moving into my new build Taylor Wimpey house in 2020.

I am looking forward to a garden that can be used all year round.

Both Matt and Wez worked conscientiously as a team to get the job done. They kept me informed at all the stages of the work being done, left the garden tidy each day when leaving and finished it sooner than anticipated as weather was forecast to deteriorate with rain/snow.

What can I say - would I recommend them - YES 100%.

I'd been having an ongoing drainage issue for some months. A family member came across Core Groundworks and got in touch with them about it. It was easy to arrange the appointment and they came out when they said they would. They were both very friendly and professional. They resolved the issue straight away and showed me how to do it myself for potential future occurrences. I'll happily recommend them and expect to do so. Matt & Chris have done a brilliant job and completely transformed a concrete mess into an amazing outdoor space and a garden that can now be used and enjoyed all the time.

Great communication from start to finish, attention to detail was second to none and great finish on all the jobs they've done.

Really pleased with everything they did, its been admired by everyone who's seen it so far, can't recommend them enough, thanks again for an excellent job.
