When we first decided to start our project we weren't sure whether we needed an architect as we thought the money would be best spent somewhere else and we could do all the designing ourselves (really how hard could it be) After some research and speaking to our local planning office we realised that there could be a fair bit of work involved (well outside my ability) and started looking for an architect. This was all new to us as we had never needed an architect before and all the ones we had contact with seemed to be what we were after and were roughly the same price, but we did have to make a decision and we are so glad we chose Christie Architecture!

From our first contact it seemed right to chose Christie Architecture, we just had a feeling about them and we were right! Niall has been amazing start to finish, very professional and easy to talk to. He didn't just throw ideas at us and plans he thought we should do, he listened to what we wanted and worked with that and has come back with a design that was simply stunning! It's great seeing drawings of a design on paper but when Niall provided us with the artist impression, wow! It just made it more real, we could visually see what our project would look like and we are excited!

Niall has done everything from organising drainage scans to speaking to the structural engineer and building control. I had no issue emailing him about anything as he always helped and advised me as much as he could and always responded in a short time. I'm not sure what other architects designs would of been, but to be honest I don't care. Working with Niall has been great, he's made our plan of a build a reality and without him we would of never had the amazing design we do now, I couldn't recommend Christie Architecture enough! I will definitely use them again for any future projects.

So if you're planning a build and think money would be better spent somewhere else then think again, it has been worth every penny!!

I first contacted Niall towards the end of 2022 and from that point I have found him to be very friendly and professional, he listened to what I wanted to achieve from the design but then also put forward other great ideas, nothing was too much trouble and Niall came back to me with two different options which we then tweaked together to come up with a final design.

Niall always kept me updated with the planning application and was always quick to respond to any queries I had.
Niall also organised a structural engineer, building control and recommended builders.

I found Niall a pleasure to work with and as this was the first time I have ever taken on a project of this kind Niall made the whole process a positive experience.

I would definitely recommend Niall and wouldn't hesitate to use him again.

We got in touch with Niall in Winter 2022 about a single story extension to our home. Niall was friendly and responsive from Day 1 and when we met with him, we knew we would work really well together.
Niall came round to carry out a measured survey of our house initially, which he was able to do whilst we worked from home.
Niall came back a few weeks later with 3 design proposals. We really loved what he has put forwards and with a bit of tweaking we were able to settle on a design. Niall was quick to amend the design and provide us the final version. The design hit our brief and more - he proposed some great design elements we would have never thought of.
We were then able to take the drawings to builders to discuss the work and receive some quotes. Unfortunately due to high building costs and interest rates at the moment, we have decided to hold off taking it any further. Niall was understanding and sympathetic when we told him our position.
We hope when costs and rates come down we will be able to move forwards with the build. When the time comes, we will be sure to get back in touch.

We found Christie Architecture on the website, along with a few others. The reason for choosing Christie Architecture over the others the experience, registered with CIAT and in close proximity to our home address. Having had a turbulent time with trying to sort out plans and amendments we were informed by our local authority we needed to have the submissions to scale - the project being the erection of a front and side canopy with garage door. Christie Architecture was great from the start, responding in good time to our initial contact. Throughout our involvement with him he was professional yet friendly and quick to make suggestions that would help our vision. The plans that were drawn up were fantastic, I'm not sure about the technology used to create the 3-d effect but they were fantastic and made the project a virtual reality, so clearly this company has the knowledge and know how to put your views onto paper. I don't believe Christie Architecture is the cheapest but, in these days, I think you definitely get what you pay for and they are absolutely worth it. Within a few months we gained the authority's permission to build the canopy so we are now looking forward to that as our next project. I would highly recommend Christie Architecture and should we have need of such a service again I would look no further.
