Protect a home have a done a great job for us in a city centre location with loads of food outlets nearby, and we are in a 200 year old building! Pests are not a problem for us anymore. Prices are good value, call outs are swiftly repsonded to, hats off to our man Stewart Reid for this service.

Additionally they worked as a sub contractor advising our builder for a dry rot outbreak - great advice and the builder used it to do an effective job treating it and reinstating the building interior. Outbreak contained in 2023 and not reappeared since.

On contacting them earlier this week looking for a last minute damp survey to be carried out in our house, Rachel accommodated us by finding us a time to carry out the assessment just two days later. Dan carried out the assessment and he was professional, incredibly knowledgeable and thorough. He completed the report and Rachel got the report back to us that same day.

I would not recommend using this company. They carried out damp proofing work to a basement 5 years ago. I have no complaints regarding the work which was carried out at that time. However, recently it appears that dampness has reappeared. I contacted Protectahome who stated that I should provide the original guarantee document which would hopefully provide cover for 10 years. I explained that I never received this document which should have been posted. A copy of the document would cost me £102. and an investigation of the installation £2200. However this offer has now been withdrawn and I have been told that they will not respond to any further e mails or phone calls. In addition I have been advised not to make any defamatory postings. As such I must now seek legal advice concerning further action.

Shane came round yesterday to advise us and organise an estimate which came very promptly by email. He’s very friendly and informative. He was back today to put the agreed plan into action. Very reassuring and quick service.

We had a dry and wet rot problem in our home causing potential structural failure to supporting wood beams. We had several companies around to assess problem, but only Protectahome were happy to give a solution due to the difficult nature of the work. The manager Steve came over as knowledgeable, organised and efficient and able to give a timely plan of action which we agreed to. The works progressed rapidly, keeping us involved with all stages and the team of workmen, led by Alan Chard, did an excellent job, with fine finishing including re-rendering of walls to complete the difficult repair. Fully recommended.
