I had a large extension built by KW Lawrence - and I would not recommend them to anyone else.
I was warned by another builder that he had a reputation for poor or unfinished work, but did not believe him. This now seems to be correct.
Mr Lawrence has no idea about project management - for example he had the carpenters lay the floor, only for the electrician and plumber to cut it up again! Some of the work was good, but some was quite bad, for example leaving the central heating overflow in the original place, which was no longer outside but above the new bedroom! I raise this as Mr Lawrence did absolutely no quality control, which I had to do, with no experience of building. I have since had it checked. Nothing is dangerous, but clearly some of it is not the finest workmanship!
If you consider employing Mr Lawrence, get EVERYTHING in writing and get the work checked as he is going along, so that any issues can be addressed at the time.
In fairness, he has been back to fix some of the issues that I have raised, but I still will not recommend him.
