We are getting our patio and garden redone and as our house is on a hill we needed a structural engineer to specify the requirements for the supporting walls. We found Richard to be really friendly, quick and helpful. He came out for a few site visits to help clarify the structural requirements with our garden designer as well as to inspect several trial holes. We would use his services again and can wholeheartedly recommend him.

We contacted Richard Herrmann Associates (RHA) to undertake a structural survey following a condition and valuation report on our church and presbytery for, amongst other reasons, insurance. We had originally intended that a structural report be undertaken by RHA in 2020 which couldn't happen due to Covid.

The condition report had identified a number of potentially expensive issues for both buildings and we contacted RHA to carry out the survey intended in 2020 and given the circumstances they offered a reduction in their fees.

Richard Ponter arrived on time and inspected the various potential problems that had been identified by the earlier condition report, as well as some others along the way.

During his inspection he reviewed the potential problems and dispelled our concerns regarding many of the potentially expensive possibilities that had been raised and also made constructive suggestions not only of solutions but also companies that could undertake the necessary works.

Both during his inspection he explained his recommendations in layman's terms which meant that we could understand not only the original problems raised but his reasons for the proposed works that needed to be undertaken both in the short and longer term.

All the above were covered in his subsequent written report together with links to possible contractors to undertake the remedial works.

All things considered a very useful experience that we'd be happy to repeat and have no hesitation in recommending RHA to any potential clients.
