The good:

- Love the overall finish and house design. Family were amongst the early people to move here and you won't be disappointed.

- Excellent customer service before and after purchase. Team helped to solve ALL our issues.

- Semi-rural location, lovely local walks on the doorstep and close to town. We love the woodland walks, nearby play area for the children and ease of walking to Hexham.

- Bus stop outside development (#10 for slower bus via Rockwood Hill, Prudhoe, Metrocentre, Blaydon, Ryton and Crawcrook. #X85 for the fast service to Newcastle on the A69). Hexham station nearby, good train service to Newcastle or Carlise. A69 main road to Newcastle/Carlise is easily accessible for fast connections to both cities - option to join A69 via Hexham or via Corbridge.

- Good neighbours with community atmosphere.

The bad:

- Very poor and complete lack of visitor parking spaces from David Wilson Homes. Some existing "visitor" bays are taken up by people's permanent vehicles (which somebody should stop), whilst other residents park their vehicles on the road instead of on their own empty drive. Lots more visitor parking bays MUST be allocated by David Wilson Homes and MUST be a condition of your purchase.

- Access to woods is closed due to construction. But they say it will be open eventually.

- No FFTP but standard broadband and Fibre to the Cabinet (FFTC) fibre broadband available, which is very fast and ideal for virtually everyone.

- Freeview lite here. However Sky or Freesat work.

- Road entrance needs to be resurfaced as it's a bumpy first impression and still annoys us. Site roads need to be adopted by council ASAP.

- Need a pedestrian refuge island outside development on A695 for safer crossing on foot.

Hexham has:

- Supermarkets: Tesco (Extra), M&S, Waitrose, Iceland, Aldi, Co-op, Nisa, B&M (construction of Lidl about to start).

- Shopping: FatFace, Argos, Pets at Home, Majestic Wines, Homebase, Mountain Warehouse, Next (Home & Clothing), Clarks, Karpet Mills, The Card Shop, Waterstones, Millets, Superdrug, Boots, Poundland, Poundstretcher, M&Co, Holland & Barrett, Clinton Cards, WHSmith, Kwik Fit, The Computer Shop, Caffe Nero, Costa, Specsavers, Greggs, Lloyds Pharmacy, Timpson, Starbucks, Screwfix, Toolstation Post office etc.

- Banks: Barclays, Virgin Money, Halifax, Lloyds, HSBC, Newcastle building society, Skipton etc.

- 2 golf courses in Hexham. 8 golf courses within 9 miles.

- Hexham racehouse is a wonderful day out and is the only one in Northumberland.

- Hadrian's wall access nearby - can start in Hexham or Corbridge.

- Corbridge is close. Easy to access by driving or cycling. Really nice walk via the woodland and river between us and Corbridge if you are feeling more energetic.

- It would be nice to eventually see the council fund a dedicated cycle lane along Corbridge road between Hexham and Corbridge. If you want to walk this route, you are better off going via the woodland walk because the pavement along the main road is narrow in places.

- Free parking in Corbridge. Free parking in many parts of Hexham, or else parking available once you have bought a £1 disc! Beware of parking charges for the B&M and M&S car park - park outside and walk the short distance for free.

- Outstanding schools nearby. Local schools for children with learning difficulties too.

- Large hospital up the road. Nice to have on your doorstep.

- Gateway town for Northumberland national park, the Kielder Water and Forest Park and the North Pennines. Driving distance of the Lake District and Yorkshire dales.

- Traditional local cinema with comfortable seating and reasonable prices.

- Good pubs and bars! Takeaways including fish & chips, Indian, Chinese, Pizza etc. Restaurants, cafes and bistros including British, Greek, Mediterranean, Indian, Swedish, French, South American, Asian, Mexican etc.

- Hexham abbey, lots of green open spaces and walks. Hexham farmers market. Large collection of independent shops and charity shops. Plenty of history, museums and local sights.
