We had an extension built on the side of our house. Our budget was tight, and this company came highly recommended by my sister-in-law, who had a loft conversion done by them. We received quotes from five companies, and while this was the second-best quote, the first one didn’t cover many of the things we wanted. They estimated eight weeks of work, and they finished on time! They were on-site Monday to Saturday. Afterward, I asked them to build a manhole and a shed, both of which were completed to our satisfaction. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a quality job done on time.

If I could give 0 stars, I would, but sadly, you can't. Folks reading this can make up your own mind, but you have been warned. The work undertaken was for a dormer loft with showroom opting for a Juliet Balcony. The sort of thing you'd expect these traders to be specialists in given their prefix "Best".

In summary, at the time of writing, despite starting the whole thing in late March, I have a bathroom window supplied and fitted by Best that has a sizeable gap letting in draft (yet to determined if its manufacturing issue, fitting or both) and a loft radiator also supplied and fitted by Best that barely functions at max setting.

There have been so many issues that the mind boggles. When you pay for a premium over £45k you pay for service and product to your 100% satisfaction, and both have been lacking. Adrian Paul (owner) lack of onsite project management despite pre contractual assurances have been pivotal to the issues.

Here are a few, evidenced by pictures. Unsafe working practices (check out the fella removing roof tiles by himself without safety precautions..and the results); Water leaking in from the roof because of inadequate covering (on one day alone they had to comeback 3 times to eventually get this sorted) - Adrian nowhere to be seen. Juliet Balcony French doors supplied damaged, fitted regardless and despite pointing out the issue and Adrian disagreeing with me, I was then proved correct when the rain seeped in and the door had to be remanufactured, their supplier admitting fault!! Unacceptable.

None of this has been helped by the owner consistently disagreeing with me on said problems, being argumentative, pushing blame on others (never his fault) with a distinct lack o customer service. Do these ppl think they are working for free or doing homeowners a favour!

As of now, the matter is being persued through checkatrade, trustatrader, FMB, with further escalation to trading standards and beyond.

No one should expect this level of shoddy pathetic experience. Not when you have paid a premium.

Adrian Paul and his team did our loft including mansard extension. Very good value, always friendly and never missed a day till the job done. We would have no hesitation in recommending his work, we were extremely happy.

Adrian, Alex and the team did a fantastic loft-conversion. We couldn't be more happy with it. Their quote was very competitive and despite being cheaper, the quality of their finish and attention to detail is striking. My wife is a designer, who loves interiors, so we had some finickity demands, including tiles that needed pre-treating and some other complications too. The guys never complained and always worked hard and left everywhere clean. The architect and building control also went like clockwork. If you're getting a loft conversion done, I wouldn't consider anyone else. Great stuff.
