It is with regret that I write a negative review but having been let down significantly by their shocking customer service, I feel I have no choice!

First of all, I want to commend the sales team as they really did go above and beyond to help me buy my new home and were great to work with. A good plus point but not enough to influence the sheer horror that is the after sales.

My new home has its fair share of snagging and that doesn’t bother me as it’s to be expected. What I didn’t expect was for poor workmanship to lead to a hole forming in my roof. During a rain storm which led to water ingress into the house and damaging the interior ceiling.

I reported this as an emergency and received a visit that morning where it was agreed that the roofers would come out to repair it. Except they decided that it was acceptable to leave it for FIVE days with water coming through. I tried using their out of hours emergency roofers but despite Kirkwood being an Aberdeenshire company building homes on the outskirts of Aberdeen, Aberdeen is too far for them and they don’t provide any cover here. This is something to beware of.

Eventually the roof was repaired but this required me to phone them to find out if the roofers were done as they just packed up and left without advising me of this. This didn’t surprise me though as all through this, Kirkwood do not communicate and require chasing up.

I have subsequently lodged a complaint but I’m eight weeks on now and they have failed to update me on it despite chasers. There just seems to be little interest once they have sold the property. I’m hoping this negative review might spur them on to acknowledge the complaint but I doubt it…

Just be very buyer beware if going with Kirkwood

We have just recently moved in to our new home. It was such a quick process for us as the house was ready. All the choices were lovely and something we would have picked ourselves with some added extras which have been great. We recently lived in a new build but kirkwood just go that extra bit further with finishing off the property to a high standard. Tom was lovely from our first meeting and was very helpful with any questions we had for him. I would highly recommend a kirkwood home to anyone looking at buying a future new build!

We had a great experience from start to finish with Kirkwood Homes. Lyn couldn't be more helpful. We love the house. It felt like a really stress free experience. Even minor snagging after we moved in has been handled really well. The quality is far superior to other house builders we looked at. Couldn't recommend them enough.

Absolutely lovely development in a desirable part of town. The show home is stunning and the attention to detail is second to none. The sales representative (Tom) is very knowledgeable and can tell you anything about the property you would wish to know. He is very friendly and I felt that I had known him all my life - Looking forward to finally getting a new build after living in houses that were built in the early 1900's.

Had a very positive experience buying from Kirkwood. Tom (Sales) and Gordon (Site Manager) were extremely helpful in facilitating the part-exchange, the overall transaction, the move in and the early stages of living there.
Minimal snags or issues in the building itself.

My property has had a case of water ingress from a neighbour and kirkwood homes were responsible for the repairs. The incident happened almost a year ago and it has not been repaired in all this time. When we contact Julian he doesn't even answer his emails but answered once when we threatened to take it further in order to have the repairs made.

This company will sell you properties which are beautiful but won't answer to you afterwards with zero customer service and a complete denial of their warranty to their customers. If I could I would give 0 stars to their service.
