Rivergate Homes are by far one of the best builders we have had the pleasure of working with. Now I know you may think this is because we work with them but please hear what I have to say. . . . as an independent business in the local area ourselves we get to see many builders/developers work first hand. Not only do Nick and his team have the cleanest and well organised sites but their attention to detail is second to none. In our own business we cherry pick who we work with and I can hand on heart say that Rivergate Homes are at the top of this list.

Reading the previous review does not match what we know of Rivergate and certainly not Nick's attitude towards customer care. Hence I would take this with a pinch of salt.

I would be more than happy to talk to any prospective clients of Rivergate Homes and further expand on the statement above.

We bought a property built by this company under Rivergate Homes (Gerrards Cross), now liquidated. We fell out with them after they tried to charge us thousands of pounds for extras that we had already paid for. They cut costs so 'high end' properties are not. Expensive guttering was so badly installed that after less than 4 years it all had to be replaced. The light switches are cheap, plastic and falling apart. The lagging on the pipes in the eaves was only 8mm instead of 25mm so the pipes all froze in the Beast from the East weather and the lagging had to be replaced. Outside painting was so poor it had to be redone just over 2 years after moving in. These are just small examples of the constant maintenance you will have on a new property.

More than a year later I have been threatened with legal action if I do not remove this review yet every word is true. They took particular exception to "they tried to charge us thousands of pounds for extras that we had already paid for" yet that is exactly what they did - initially a bill for £27,000 after completion (don't they understand the meaning of the word?) and that was reduced to £9100 3 months later - a bill that listed various items, all bar one of which had been paid for in full 8 months earlier. The longer we stay in the house - nearly 6 years now - the more problems arise due to their cutting corners. It is important that anyone looking at buying one of their builds does so in full possession of all the facts. The fact that they didn't follow through with their threats supports the fact that what I have said is true.

I have seen the review below by someone who works with them yet that is at variance with what we were told by other subcontractors (whose details I have). I would be happy to show what I am referring to in my house to any prospective Rivergate Homes customers and you can make up your own minds.
