I purchased a leasehold property at 4 Steward Street, London, from Mizen Group, who remain the freeholder. The quality of construction has been consistently poor — we've experienced water ingress issues almost every year, directly linked to defects in the building's fabric. Building maintenance is virtually non-existent, despite service charges that are outrageously high. Over the past 10 years, flats in the building have lost approximately 20% of their value in a prime location as a result of poor building condition and service charges out of control (nobody wants to buy a 650 sqft flat with £4000+ annual service charges). This is exactly the kind of situation that highlights the urgent need for leasehold reform in the UK. I would strongly advise against buying into any project developed or managed by Mizen Group.

Do not buy properties from this group.

They have built apartment blocks that do not meet the fire safety standards and have ignored leaseholders for years while expecting them to bear all the costs. They are hand in hand with management agencies, trying to extract as much money from clients as possible whilst providing zero services. Not to mention cheap fittings, communal boilers that break within the first few years, I could go on for a long time.

This is a borderline scam company, they should not be legally allowed to operate but here they are, making millions at the cost of people they are scamming of their savings. Worst of the worst

I rented a flat in Richmond managed by Mizen Group and had an amazing experience. For the two years of my tenancy I had no infrastructure problems and everything promised was delivered. The furniture was amazing and proved to be even after using for two years. Whenever I needed support from Colette she has been amazing, always available and accommodating. I also appreciate the support she gave me when leaving the flat after my two years - I just left because I had to move cities otherwise I would continue to live there for years until be ready to buy a property. Overall, as my first flat in the Uk I had a great experience.

I've had a great experience with Mizen. I purchased my first flat at the end of 2020, there were some delays due to Covid but this was to be expected and the team made up for the lost time due to the pandemic really well. The flat itself is amazing and a really good quality, I'm really happy with it. The team have been very helpful (Jake Barnett in particular!) and have made the experience really smooth. I would definitely recommend Mizen. The flat was bought through Douglas and Gordon who I would also recommend due to their professionalism and communication.

I bought my flat from Mizen.
There is no heating and constant hot water since Christmas at the flats and they have not solved the problem since.
Also we have some security problems which has never been solved, we are not even getting any answers.
Happy to share my experiences in further details to anyone privately.

We’ve not had heating or hot water for two weeks (from 28th Dec to 11th January). The communication has been appalling as has the service provided so far. This is a new build block of apartments. Every single family in the building has the same issue. We shouldn’t be having this problem. Everyone in the building is fed up with the lack of communication and lack of care from Mizen. We have been offered no alternative accommodation or electric heaters. We paid a lot of money for these apartments and it seems that as soon as the property is sold to you, Mizen shirk all responsibility. Legal proceedings will be the next step.

Bought a new construction in late 22.
Quality of work is poor, corners cut. Have to keep chasing for updates for rectification of poor work-still waiting in May 24 as they never respond to emails etc. Utterly fed up as are my neighbours.
In hindsight would never had purchased the house(expensive mistake) so please beware.
