We used Brophy, Riaz and partners (BRP architects) for a radical alteration in a large house in Edgbaston.We commissioned them for a planning only service and got the requisite consent.
We were delighted with the design and the way the space was unlocked.

Nadim is a highly competent, knowledgable and skilled architect and from our first engagement I was immediately impressed by both his professionalism and attention to detail. His encyclopaedic knowledge of building regulations combined with his ability to create a fit-for-purpose design allowed us to create a thoughtfully functional space. Even though our property was fairly straightforward in terms of space planning, being only a traditional 3 bedroom semi-detached property, I was impressed with the care Nadim took, showcasing his ability to master the basics and the diligence at which he approaches projects, no matter how small. Although generally minor, the team were also happy to accommodate various design changes and update the drawings package in a prompt manner which I am grateful for, which themselves are very clear with distinct separation between various aspects, e.g. structural, M&E etc. I would keep in mind to remember that the client are often not experts, which means that, naturally, they may not know what is possible to fully unlock the value of a space - essentially captured by the phrase ‘you don’t know what you don’t know’. This is where the creativity and suggestions of the architect play an important role throughout the process, and I am eager to see how Nadim would handle a project with looser design parameters where this competency would truly be tested. Overall, a smooth experience throughout.

Very professional approach, they use all the best material from selection of bathroom stuff to kitchen appliances. Still I'm in contact with Nadim and willing to give him my personal commercial plot for architecture and construction.

How can I start this review? Its been a rollercoaster of emotions since I purchased a new property with plans for a double extension and rear side extension.

I had "architect" recommendations from family and friends so I contacted them, as soon as they saw the presence of ST Water pipes (2x225mm next to each other) they just said we dont advise to do it and it will not be possible. Two "architects" said this. They wanted me to go for a puny "loft extension". At this stage I actually thought it may be difficult, however I thought Id try Nadim and his team.

And am I glad that I did. He formulated a plan of action with regard to ST Pipes and started work on my plans.

The house plans/structure (after Nadim asked us what we wanted) were different to our original ideas. But he took his time and made a brilliant plan (quite a large extension, more then originally planned) and the structure of the house was amazing far better then the plan we had envisaged. Every little detail was included, even the layout of furniture and kitchen units.

The plans for how to deal with ST Water pipes came into fruition and it went our way, permission was granted to build over them and a Build Over agreement was obtained for pipes at the rear.

Planning permission was granted first time, and not a thing had to be changed from the plans which I was highly impressed with.

Nadim himself is a pleasent person, as are his team. If I could give 6 stars I would. I will use Nadim again in the future inshallah and he will do all planning apps for myself and family.

Highly Professional team, do not hesitate to use them.

We commission Brophy Riaz & Partners Chartered Architects to design a Morden housing development consisting of 8 large family dwellings. The design was outstanding, Brophy Ria, guided us through the process from inception, there advice was outstanding and we secured planning consent for 8 family house scheme. Nadim and his team were instrumental in coordinating all consultants, obtaining reports in support of the proposal, negotiating with the planning department. Absolutely outstanding architects and we would highly recommend Nadim & his team of architects without hesitation. Five star

I worked with this firm of architects since 2002. The 3rd Firm I had tried. The first didn't return my calls. The second wanted to charge for travelling 400 yards.
I read with interest another review complimenting Brophy Riaz on achieving retrospective permission. Why not get it right in the first place? Fear of the expense? Or the administrative process? We achieved planning permission in a conservation area where the planning officer complimented the roof design.

We proceeded to build in keeping with the other residences. A traditional design and a contemporary interior.

It's my belief that the design of the kitchen has pioneered the current trend of velux windows and bi folding doors onto the garden. An important property that achieved 147% of its predicted sale value.
