If you want to waste your money this is the company you should use. Alex came around to my house and talked about rugby an football for 15min then sent me a detailed survey that was completely wrong designs and sizes. Two outside company’s confirmed he has calculated wrongly and for a more expensive build. He the proceeded to invoice us for £1000 even though my concern. His company started sending threatening emails about court action and is now in the process of trying to CCJ our family. I would start clear, you can get a structural engineers report done online for around £300/£400 like we did very easy no hassle within 24hrs.Don’t be fooled like we have been people will say anything to steal money from you, it’s all text book stuff nothing personal. If the architect says he will supply your structural engine and surveyor then don’t because they will be all working together. And hold your property to ransom it’s a massive con be aware individual companies will be 50% cheaper. I am an engineer and in the trades be careful.

We contacted Alex Fairhurst via the architect who had designed a small extension to our home. I needed a structural engineer's report to satisfy the local Building Control Office. I also needed technical information about the new structure that would allow the builder to order the correct materials.

It seems things rarely run smoothly where construction is concerned and the circumstances were such that this was needed quite quickly. I was delighted therefore when Alex was able to turn this around speedily. The report was accepted by the office, subject to one query about the existing building which was quickly and comprehensively addressed. The builder was also able to order the precise steels specified in the documentation.

All round, a great result. Thank you.
