I’d heard about Alix’s work from a friend and started to follow her on Instagram - really liking what I saw and how she was able to create beautiful spaces that felt natural and calming. When my husband died last year, I realised that one of the very first steps I felt ready to take to rebuild my life was to decorate our shared bedroom. It had been pretty neglected over the years from our busy family life but I knew that updating it and making it feel cosy and special again would be like giving myself a hug - something I really needed. Alix was really thoughtful and sensitive about the whole project and came up with a design that felt like a small step into the future - whilst not losing myself and our shared history together. We chose a softer pink colour for the walls and ceiling and added several pieces that brought the room together as a whole. Alix really understood the importance of the project and knew how to help me make choices when I occasionally felt a little overwhelmed. The room now feels special and calm and it is like the hug I was hoping for.

I hadn’t fully grasped what an interior designer can do to support you as you make changes to your home but I really get it now. Alix has a phenomenal eye and knows exactly how even a few small items can bring a sense of togetherness to a space. She is very clever. If you’re looking to update a room and you don’t know where to start - just reach out. You’ll be seriously impressed and achieve so much more than you would on your own by leaning into Alix’s knowledge and expertise. Her knowledge of fabrics, soft furnishings and a multitude of suppliers is second to none.

I had a wonderful Colour Consultation for my home with Alix where we worked room-by-room to build a colour palette for the whole house. I wanted to bring a sense of nature and calmness to my home (it's very grey at the moment!) and although each room will have it's own individuality, all of the colours throughout complement each other perfectly and it has given me some much-needed direction and clarity. Along the way Alix has shared some invaluable tips regarding accessories, tester paints, and repurposing what I already have. I loved it!

We had repainted our large kitchen dinner a few times but were never really happy with the result, in addition we were struggling to come up with ideas to replace the rugs in our lounge.
Alix paid us a visit and we explained we wanted a warmer feel to the colour schemes, in a short space of time she short listed some changes for us and importantly inspired the confidence in us to make the changes. We were at a complete block with painting and styling our home and the best choice we have made was working with Alix at Amberley Studio.

A thoroughly enjoyable experience from the start. She really listened to us talk about how we use our space and what we were struggling with. Her attention to detail is superb, suggesting some tweaks to existing furniture that didn’t cost anything but have made a huge difference to our day-to-day life that we had never thought of ourselves.

She was mindful and considerate of our budget constraints and also made sure suggestions were practical for our dog which was appreciated. She has an incredible eye for colour and we were blown away by the mood board and samples we received.

My husband had concerns an interior designer might suggest things that weren’t necessarily to our taste but Alix spent time getting to know us both and what we like. One of Alix’s suggestions was to tile a small amount of our kitchen and she found the most BEAUTIFUL tiles (which we both love!) to do that with.

From lighting, to paint, to furniture, to small considered details, we are slowly incorporating every single one of Alix’s suggestions into our home. If we ever move, we may need to call her straight away... She is a genius!

We recently moved into a new build, and were quite lost on how to make this white box a home.
Amberley Studio transformed our living spaces, office and bedrooms. Alix started by getting to know us as a family, how we live, what we like, how we want to feel and more importantly what we didn't want! Alix created mood boards, 2D space layouts, chose lots of furniture options and colour and material recommendations with samples for each room and was completely on point!
Her trade discounts purchasing the furniture were amazing and Alix was always on hand to ask questions and make adjustments throughout the process.
Alix sourced all the accessories, and came to our home and styled it. We couldn't be more happy, I actually can't believe we live here as it looks so fantastic and has finally made our house into our home.
