Really happy with the work that Ian and Akil did on the structural drawings for our small scale house renovations - they were extremely responsive to various changes we needed, happy to explain everything clearly for us non-experts and even threw in some additional advice and amendments all within the original fee quoted for. Couldn't be happier and wouldnt hesitate to use them for future projects!

Absolute appalling service. Contacted them in early June for a calculation for one steel. Various emails and phone calls and six weeks later still waiting. Lots of broken promises. Look elsewhere.

I see the critical reviews on here, and have to say that our experience of working with Archibald Shaw could not be further from them. I do not normally write reviews, but I feel compelled to do so in this case.

We worked with Ben Sitton from Archibald Shaw on the structural calculations for a remodelling and extension project at our home. Ben's site visit was extremely thorough and his advice with our plans were invaluable. Ben's calculations/report was exactly what our Architect & Builder needed. The plans were excepted by Building control at first pass with no issue.

Ben's knew we were on a tight time-frame and he showed terrific flexibility to fit in the site visit and send us his calculations/report very promptly. Ben has also kept in touch to see how our project is going, which has been great. Ben is a very professional person and I could not fault the service Ben provided. I also thought the costs were fair for the service we received.

From the work Archibald Shaw did for us, I would have no hesitation in recommending them to others.

Charged me 40hrs to write a report after a 1 hour visual inspection
should only take 8 hrs. Cost 7 times orginal esitmate, please avoid this unproffesional company. They did not tell me of the increase until they sent invoice.
