Do not buy an executive home from Ashwood homes.
We have an island in our kitchen with a extractor hood that is glass on the outside that's only 5 feet 4 inches above the ground. I hit my head all the time and so is a health and safety issue. The kitchen fitter from Quay even asked me how many times have I hit my head and laughed.
We have asked them to cut the Chimney hood or replace it so it's 6 feet above the ground. They have refused saying “ this is something to consider yourself, as there is nothing wrong with the one we have installed this would not be something covered by a warranty”
They do not see it as a health and safety issue?
Over 200 problems so far with the house.
When you go and look around a Ashwood home, check everything. Once they have your money it's too late.

Cutting corners
All the new houses on High Road Weston with floor tiles are having to have the tiles replaced. This happened because Ashwood decided not to follow a set procedure?
Ashwood are going to replace the tiles but they seem to forget the inconvenience this has caused to the owners for up to 2 weeks
No access to kitchen
No downstairs toilet
No mention of providing other accommodation.
Heating has to be introduced slowly so it needs to be done in the summer.
The other main concern is what other major procedures have they not followed.

We had our Ashwood home for just over 3 years. We loved our house and found the quality was great and the value for money was spot on. The houses were not all “rammed in” like a typical new build estate, we had nice carpets, a decent sized garden and branded appliances. Couple of little niggles like every brand new house, they are built by hand so there is often imperfections, this is to be expected! Thanks for our lovely 3 years!

Visited the showhomes in Holbeach and met Jo and Mel. Had a very pleasant chat with two extremely nice and knowledgable women

Moved into our new Ashwood home just over a week ago. Very happy with the house and the service. Good communication from staff. Site manager is friendly and helpful. Appliances in the home are very good quality. Bosch fridge freezer, dishwasher, cooker and hob. Wonderful Mira shower. Bedrooms small but fine. Nice standard extras - outside lights front and back, doorbell, outside tap, front small garden area planted. Have lived in other new builds in the past that have not been as good quality. Overall very pleased that we bought our property through Ashwood homes.

For anyone considering purchasing an Ashwood Homes property, caution!
I’m one of those unlucky buyers who has experienced many problems and very poor customer service. Some of the issues are detailed below but if you would like more information, please contact me.
a) misled about the property features at reservation.
b) provided with incorrect information during the legal process and at exchange of contracts.
b) misled into proceeding to exchange of contracts and also completion despite the property not being built in accordance with the approved planning permission.
c) unreasonable refusal to put right a series defects that were clearly present during handover (Ashwood rely on small print to reject claims).
d) very poor quality of brickwork.
e) unfinished external landscaping to the plot (now 10 months).
f) loss of use/enjoyment of the rear garden.
h) poor complaint handling - I’ve now had to escalate my concerns to the NHBC Arbitration scheme.

Had been looking around for a while as l needed to downsize. Looked at quite a few new builds but l was impressed by look of the show homes and sales staff. However, the day of handover the whole atmosphere changed as it was now my house. We were given about 20 minutes to look over the house and make sure there wasn't any defects with a warning that anything else after the handover was down to us and we would have to pay. That was a warning shot, we moved in and from that day to this there were a shed load of defects and delays aplenty, this seems to be plot. There is always a delay in remedial works, in the hopes that you forget. If you want real quality of finish, GO ELSEWHERE.

I have to say on balance the experience has been OK. The house we bought didn't really have any major issues and to be fair the snagging process picked up remedial works in good time. I have found the builders to be helpful in the area, even when I am taking liberties and asking them to do things after we had bought the house. The main issues we experienced were 1) LOTS of drains in the garden, we got unlucky and I guess nobody at any point considered it. 2) No real information during the sales process about optional extras, we picked up a couple of things we needed by accident, like the fact that the built in wardrobe was an extra, but other things we sadly never realised like the kitchen floor lighting or kitchen breakfast bar extension, things we would have loved and happily paid for but just weren't told about. We did find this particularly unusual as we thought that they would want to sell extras to get the margin on them. I think maybe the 5 star reviews are a bit artificial as one reviewer suggests but at the same time the negative reviews are maybe given in anger as I might have done a few months ago. You have to expect a new build not to be perfect and hope that they fix anything major, and to be fair they have done where possible.
