Bagshot Developments Limited (BDL) recently completed a garage conversion and small side extension to our semi-detached house to create new office space, bathroom & utility area.We are delighted with the finished build & the very high quality of workmanship. We would highly recommend them.

The initial contact with Alasdair gave us confidence that we were working with a professional, knowledgeable & personable company. From the first ‘on site’ meeting to discuss the project he was extremely efficient, detailed with his pricing & understood what we wanted to achieve. His communication was excellent throughout & he was particularly helpful with the building control process and managing every aspect of the project. He was always quick to respond to any queries we had or issues that arose & happy to discuss any changes to design etc.

We were very impressed with the whole team who worked so well together, were always respectful, trustworthy and meticulous in their work. They could best be described with the following words (in no particular order): reliable, polite, friendly, approachable, knowledgeable and skilled, and always left a tidy site at the end of the day.

Many thanks to all the BDL guys (Trevor, Leo, Andy, Sam, Andy & Danny) who along with Alasdair & Fraser went 'above and beyond' to get the extension we wanted.

In summary, BDL is an excellent and friendly, family-run firm of builders, who we would use again & would highly recommend.

I contracted Bagshot Developments to redevelop my garage having been impressed by the work they did developing the houses next door and getting to know the team. They transformed the garage from a damp, cold and uninsulated shell into a fully fitted gym with integrated workshop. The whole team were very professional and made good progress on the project in accordance with quote and budget. Would recommend.

Our extension was, by far, the biggest building project that we had ever commissioned and, with a ticket price to match, we were very apprehensive in selecting a company that would look after us. We talked through our plans with other firms that had been recommended to us but we were attracted to BDL as a long-standing family-run organisation with an impressive track record. Alasdair inspired confidence from the outset that the implications of our project were clearly understood and that they were more than capable of dealing with its complexities. Equally importantly, we felt that we would be dealing with people that we could trust.

From that initial meeting, our experience has been nothing but positive:

• On-site walk-throughs of our plans were held to ensure our requirements were understood and the whole construction approach could be explained to us. Senior members of the team were introduced at that early stage

• Detailed cost projections were provided which itemised each key activity. Thereafter, invoices were raised to reflect elements of those activities as they were completed (i.e. no payments were required in advance beyond the initial deposit).

• There was always a senior, experienced member of the team on-site during construction to oversee all elements of the build and supervise contractors. You don’t have to be a builder to recognise precision, quality of workmanship and attention to detail - even in those elements that will ultimately be hidden from view

• Ongoing communication was excellent in reporting progress and to advise next steps throughout – and seeking out our preferences when there were alternative options available

• That initial confidence was reinforced as we progressively saw every member of the core team in action. Each of them had a clear “can do” attitude – and the motivation to do it right. Everyone was mindful of the impact of disruption to our neighbours. Many remarked to us how polite and considerate the team had been when there were challenges with parking and deliveries to site

• Respect was shown to our home at all times; little things like removing boots when having to venture into other areas of the property. Temporary “barriers” were built indoors to contain dust and prevent disruption to the rest of the house. They left the site as tidy, and as secure, as possible at the end of each working day.

• Mountains were moved to get us to a stage where we could accommodate a family Christmas – even though there was still plenty of work to do in the New Year. All debris was cleared; furniture moved back into place and floors were vacuumed and/or mopped as we moved back in!

• Snagging/finishing towards the end of the project - and cleaning/tidying of the site on exit - was significantly beyond our expectations. (We really didn’t expect jet-washing of the patio – and that is just one example!) We are absolutely delighted with the finished product. A complete transformation which we are very proud of.

There were absolute superstars throughout the build - and they know who they are - but the following all deserve a special mention. In alphabetical order, a very big thank you to Alasdair, Andy, Danny, Fraser, Leo, Sam and Trevor. It really was a pleasure dealing with you all and, bizarrely, we miss you being around. We didn’t expect to be saying that!

Bagshot Developments carried out landscaping work to both the front driveway and rear garden. At the front, this involved extending the existing brickwork across the entire drive. At the rear, it was a significant extension of the existing patio and addition of 2 large flower beds.

Having had significant experience with various tradesmen on previous projects, the workmanship was the best I have come across. Trevor and his team took no shortcuts, and on the contrary undertook some additional unforeseen work that was required to achieve the best results with no fuss to the client. The job took a little bit longer than planned as the team did not want to rush the job and ensure the best possible finish.

I look forward to working with Bagshot Developments again on future projects!

New patio laid in rear garden. Fraser and his team provided a very professional service. The quality of the finish was faultless. I requested a few changes to the overall layout of the patio at the end, in addition to a couple of other odd jobs around the garden, which was no problem for the team and fully accommodated. Highly recommended company and would use again.
