They call themselves 5 star, not in my view! Really disappointing experience at this Barratt development.
We found a house that we wanted to buy, asked if it was available, was told that it was by Paul in the sales office. I offered to pay the fee to reserve the house but was told to wait. It was Monday evening and they don't open Tuesday or Wednesday, so nothing was going to change, he said. I called again on Thursday to try to buy the house and pay the fee, and was stalled again. Called again on Friday, only to be told that they had sold the property to someone else, leaving me angry and frustrated.
Somewhat unprofessionally I was also told that the person that had bought the house was working at Kings Mill hospital and was waiting for a written confirmation that he had a job. Data protection seems irrelevant to these people.
Prior to the above we had looked at part exchange deal with Barratts. We had our property valued but were offered an amount lower than expected by Barratts. After speaking to the estate agent that had valued our house, it transpired that she had been pressurised by Josh, the sales manager, to drop her valuation so that they could screw more money from us. It didn't work, all it did was make us realise that these people aren't worthy of our trust and stopped us looking at any Barratt development that Josh was involved with.
If they consider this a 5 star experience Barratt are deluding themselves.
Ironically, they have a house that I could be interested in on their Skegby site, but it's the same sales manager, and I don't trust him, so I'll give them a miss.
