I had a terrible experience with this company and would advise others to avoid them to save their money. I hired them to survey and create drawings for planning approval, but their communication and understanding of my needs were extremely poor. I asked them to stop working and provide a breakdown of completed tasks because they couldn’t deliver the finalized drawings as promised. It was only after I formally requested to terminate the agreement that they finally sent the drawings, which were delayed, incomplete, and did not meet the discussed expectations.

The owner’s comment below clearly demonstrates an inability to accept feedback. I can’t imagine any scam going to such lengths to issue a review warning other potential customers not to make the same mistake I did. Good luck to anyone willing to risk losing their money with them

I thought they would project manage the extension & use local people.
They found the architect from Oxford who only came out the once. He said we couldn't do a lot of the things we wanted due to the council being difficult yet my neighbour is having an extension & seems to be able to fo all the things we couldn't so not sure about him also the layout wasn't very good but the carpenter manage to sort that out.
If your having just an extension I wouldn't bother with a project manager as its expensive & they don't do a lot.

Berkshire Developments Ltd have provided me with everything needed to achieve my downstairs bathroom and entrance hall extension. I appreciated not having to search out an architect or builder as Robert and his team provide choices for these. They also guide you through the whole build process, a definite advantage given this was my first experience of building an extension.The whole process was painless and I would be more than happy to use Berkshire Developments again should the need arise.

Berkshire Developments did a really good job on the planning and delivery of our extension, taking us from the initial concept to a ready to build stage. We had a pretty good idea what we wanted and they brought a level of attention to detail to the final design and plans which meant we obtained planning permission, avoided some potential build complexities and created a versatile and appealing space which we are very pleased with.

Avoid if your job is for any older property or complex build. Initially seemed great but it turned out they were not suited for the job , unfortunately as they are extremely good sales people we were not made aware of the limitations and ended up having to instruct a second much more experienced firm which got the job done but essentially we had to pay twice. Probably fine if your build is basic but wouldn’t recommend for anything listed, older or complex. We wanted to use a local firm to support the local economy and we were assured they had the credentials for the job but essentially they wasted our time and money. We felt we were due a proportion (not 100%, we acknowledged some hours were put in) of the fee refunded as would seem fair given the poor and lack of stated experience but were told the fee was appropriate, so we paid £1800 only to have to instruct a second firm. Think carefully before using and don’t fall for the excellent sales pitch.

Such a wonderful experience working with Berkshire developments who provided me with inspirational designs, to transform my semidetached property with a grand wraparound ground floor side and rear extension.

The main aim of this project was to create a third master bedroom downstairs with all necessary amenities for a family member with health problems. In the designs this was complimented with a very large family living space leading into an ample kitchen and utility room

The care and attention in the designs schematics was exemplary. “How can we use the space to benefit your family the most” was a welcomed phrase. The family room benefited from a high vaulted ceiling with generous skylights to flood the space with natural light.

I particularly appreciated how the design phase influenced my preconceptions and allowed the space to develop to improve orientation and flow, which would aid our family member with poor health. Providing an additional multifunction room, which could change use as my young children grow, was also a great idea

Robert and the team ensured that the project kept moving through the approval process despite some setbacks caused by Wokingham Borough Council.

They offer a service where they took the pain and worry out of the application and approval process through their decades of industry experience.

Being introduced to prospective builders through the process also really helped me understand my budget, priorities, project time scales and occupancy through the build.

I would thoroughly recommend using Berkshire Developments
