Our house had a loft extension a couple of years ago, built by Boarshurst. The construction had a 5 year warranty. A significant issue appeared on the rendering and this was brought to the attention of Boarshurst via email. Sadly they didn't respond until a neighbour (who had also had worked done by them) who had issues, called them to pick up on her earlier contacts that hadn't been responded to.

One of the directors visited the house and advised that he would send one of his roofers. Almost 2 weeks later, still no follow up contact from either a roofer or Boarshurst. We followed up and were told the renderers would visit this week. They didn't show up or get in touch to re-arrange.

In summary, the warranty appears to be worthless and they sadly do not appear to be interested in resolving the issues with the work or honouring the warranty.

Three roofers have independently looked at the work done and have indicated it's been done incorrectly and is substandard. This will now need to be remedied at significant cost.

Save your hard earned money people and find a builder either through a solid recommendation or a reputable trusted trader type website.

We had an extension built in 2008. Work was OK ish, but they persuaded us to put cavity wall insulation in the rest of the house at the same time( for an extra cost obviously).
On completion we weren't given a certificate for any of the insulation and since then the rest of the house has damp mould and the wall insulation is drenched inside. Experts say it should never have been put in. We contacted the company who basically said tough as your extension is over 10 years old.
We re now having to pay 1000s to remove it, and replaster whole sides of the house. And also we are deemed ineligible for government schemes to fit correct insulation until we remove the old at our expense. Dont use this company as they won't even confirm they were ever a member of the cavity insulation guarantee scheme

Our experience with Boarshurst was excellent, we renovated our home in Didsbury...Paul helped us add value to our home with a fabulous new extension. There timing and professionalism was on point, the extension was finished to a high standard. I would definitely recommend Boarshurst to anyone wanting good quality work on budget.

Paul and his team did a full refurbishment of my house 7 years ago. I recently rang him as we had a problem with the roof. In weeks he had the scaffolding up and had it completely sorted out. We had a great experience at the time of refurbishment and the aftercare has been also excellent x

Boarshurst did a large amount of work on my house three years ago. Project management and attention to detail is poor. My impression is that cutting corners and saving costs is a priority. It was almost a year before I received the final certificates for the work and paid the final part of the fee. After which they really have no further interest.

They provide a five year guarantee. Sounds reassuring. Sadly this really isn't worth the paper it's printed on. Twice I have asked them to resolve problems from the work. Repeated telephone calls have never resulted in any action. I have had to pay other contractors to resolve the problems. Beware!

Original work was completed to a decent standard, including shower room and utility room extension. However work also required a new integral garage roof. It leaked water from the outset and they returned to make a fix. This lasted a few months and now leaks non stop. They have inspected and admitted liability but getting them back is a nightmare. 6 months waiting and still no sign, and they don’t answer phone calls unless you call from a different phone number. After build service is a disgrace.

Beware. Making mistakes is one thing, what you do about it is another.

I cannot comment on the quality of service but I would be seriously concerned if their work ethic is reflected by the way they treat potential new customers. I arranged an appointment, the person never came, later claiming that they picked up the wrong customer address from the office, so we gave them the benefit of the doubt and rearranged but they didn't show again. Neither of the times did they have the courtesy to call on the day to tell me that they weren't coming. If they don't take their appointments seriously I don't want to know how seriously they take delivery of projects.

Paul, Darren and the team at Boarshurst completed a significant house refurbishment and building project for me. They were excellent. Innovative in their approach and problem solving. They rapidly completed the project, yet still delivered a high standard of finish, complimented by many. Highly recommended.
