I have used Dave and his team for many projects over the years. Most recently being a large double and single story extension to the side and rear of our property.
This was a large undertaking and something that affected every room of the house.
We chose to remain living in our home while the work was completed. Dave and his team made this possible, working around us and our young family.
From start to finish the communication has been wonderful. Dave is always only a call away and happy to provide help and advice from his years of experience.
I have and will recommend him to anyone.
Buildworks have transformed our house to a home!

I’ll try to make this a short and concise review. Dave was our builder and basically major contractor on our housing renovation in 2021 and 2022.
Our early engagement was visiting with us prior to purchasing the property to discuss our plans with us, providing budgetary advice and what would be possible.
Following that, we moved in and had a start date. We worked with Buildworks and some recommendations for architects from Dave. They had a good working relationship so we were able to do this promptly whilst focusing on our design.
The extent of the building work was very significant. We had a new roof including Trusses, managed by Dave. He assisted us managing the installation of roof mounted solar panels in the project. Following that, the main property extension and building work began. This involved a single storey rear extension, major rewiring, plumbing and plastering work throughout. Dave worked closely with us throughout, managing challenges and issues as they arose. We were never more than a phone call away, and even made time on the weekends to have on site project updates. We were able to trust Dave and the team to manage the project to an excellent standard and keep within timescales. He also took responsibility for working with our other contractors, sometimes managing activities that we couldn’t achieve such as facilitating the kitchen designers access and comments to the house. The kitchen installation was not in the Buildworks scope, but Dave wanted this to be a success.
Finally, once the main building work was done we had additional scope that we brought on such as landscaping, garage modifications and general finalisation work.

It was a major project for us, spanning nearly 18 months total time frame. We worked very closely with Dave and the team for around 8-9 months in very regular contact. Communication was excellent.
Quality of work is very good, with other contractors remarking on the excellence of wall builds and finish.
We would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone, and they would be my first port of call if we were to do any project like this again.

Dave and his team have undertaken all types of work including converting and extending a garage at my Harrogate property to updating and adapting a bungalow for my elderly parents. Edit: To be very clear I have not mentioned anything to do with payment, nor inferred it, and very luckily did not part with a single penny to this terrible company. I mentioned unprofessionalism, cowardice, and being a total let down. Ignoring people and leaving them totally in the dark is terrible.

Extremely disappointed with Dave and Buildworks. We had been in communication for a number of months regarding a large extension/renovation on our property. Weeks before our suggested start date Dave stopped replying to any calls, texts or emails. To the point we were actually worried that something bad had happened. Looking at other reviews it turns out he found a different project to crack on with. Not having the professionalism to even reply to a message to say the work was no longer wanted is incredibly cowardly and left us wasting time and effort chasing an unprofessional builder that clearly didn't want the custom. A simple "no thanks" would have been fine.

He knew we were working to a regulatory deadline but thought it was fine to just disappear leaving us with no communication or clue what was going on. There was no breakdown in relations, no warning signs, nothing. I am beyond relieved that we never gave him a penny of our money.

It seems he only offers a good service if he actually wants your custom, if your custom isn't needed you're not worth a second of his time. Thankfully we found a wonderful, professional, non-cowardly, builder who is cracking in with the work just fine. If you want a reliable, trust worthy builder I would serious consider going else where. There are many other, more credible, builders out there.

I'm Mansfield-based and it's a shame to see a local company suffer with fake Google reviews from people who are not actual clients. Please do take time to speak with Dave in person when he offers an on-site property assessment at no charge. Anyone who has been in business for 30 years and is capable to barn conversions (photo below), home extensions and entirely new build houses knows his stuff. I'm more than happy to recommend Dave and know that people have the intelligence to spot nefarious reviews for no purpose.

Rude and completely uninterested. Yes we contacted you on a Sunday as Instructed by your staff, you were not forced to answer. Your response was are dismissive, rude and uninterested and this is after contacting you the first time months ago and recieving the same rude response. It's a shame as your work looks decent which is why we tried give you another chance
