This place was really cool. I wanted to see it because it was featured in the newer pride and prejudice movie. The paintings and furniture are amazing and the architecture. Place is huge and better, less busy than Buckingham Palace tour. The gardens were great also. We were lucky to have great weather. Only issue was the kids playground area closed way too soon. Should be sundown or something.

Had a lovely time with my family (two cousins, a mum and a granny) today when we went to the adventure playground. There was lots to do in the playground as well as a fun scavenger hunt about finding moles. We also went to the garden of surprises which was super interactive and fun. At the end we went to the cafe and got some cakes and drinks. Didn't go in the house but looks nice. All in all a great day out and we will definitely be returning, thank you!

Bought tickets in advance with a £2 saving so off to a good start.
Lovely stately home full of fabulous artwork and furniture meticulously displayed in the 18 rooms accessible to the public. The great hall and the kitchen are absolutely magnificent.
Lovely gardens with all manner of ornaments and fountains etc. and then into the sculpture park with some lovely bits dotted around the grounds. Would be 5/5 if the sculpture park way round and displays were clearer and as they were getting ready for the Horse trials not all the grounds were open.
Otherwise fabulous and really well staffed too.

We visited here for the Christmas Fair and it was lovely. All the staff were incredibly friendly, it was well organised and they had a good variety of stalls to look at. It had a lovely Christmas vibe and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We would definitely return in the summer months to visit the House and properly look around.

We started our tour down in the kitchen and walked up this beautiful staircase into a small room with some art pieces. Attached was a chapel, which looked amazing. From there you walk down a small hallway and into the billiard room which has all the portraits of the earls. From there you continue out into some halls. The walls and ceilings are covered in some of the most incredible artwork you've ever seen. You really need to spend some time in these rooms to take it all in. As you continue on through the rooms, you'll see amazing tapestry and other art decorations. As you come to the staircase down, the artwork is probably one of the most impressive pieces I have ever seen. The great hall is the last room and is filled with amazing books I wish I could pick up and read!
Walked around the gardens which were well maintained and the food options aren't too bad either.
If you are in the area, this is a must see.

Burghley House is a wonderful estate situated on the edge of Stamford. The house originated from the 16th century and holds a vast array of fine art and furniture. The staff are welcoming, helpful and happy to answer questions about the estate. The gardens are well maintained, with a large children’s play area suitable for all ages.
Highly recommend a visit here!

Not my first visit to this beautiful house but there is always something new to admire, due partly to the sheer number of items on display, the regular additions to the collections and the seasonal changes in the very extensive gardens. The guides present in nearly every room are knowledgeable, friendly and very approachable. The conversations we had with a couple of the guides definitely added to both our knowledge and enjoyment of this visit. The Orangery provided an excellent lunch, that wasn’t too expensive considering the beautiful location in which we were situated. Wasn’t overly impressed with some of the ‘installations’ in the gardens but that’s probably due to personal taste so definitely worth a look during your visit. All in all, a very enjoyable visit.
