Sold a 5 star dream, in reality a cheap product poorly executed with a 5 star price tag.

11 months in to own property snagging not completed multiple issues water leaks in. Water leaks out shower needs completely replacing. Don’t worry Cameron homes will get it done in a reasonable amount of time.

Turf laid onto concrete and rubble no need for top soil they say.

As someone who has recently dealt with Cameron Homes, I feel compelled to share my experience to alert potential buyers to the potential pitfalls you might face.

To begin, the flooring in my living room was poorly installed, with noticeable gaps between the planks. This oversight created a drafty environment and led to uncomfortable living conditions. Cameron Homes initially blamed the flooring subcontractor, refusing to acknowledge their overall responsibility for the work. After months of back-and-forth, they reluctantly agreed to fix the issue, but only after I threatened to take legal action.

Another major problem was the shoddy brickwork on the exterior of the house. I noticed several bricks were chipped or unevenly placed, giving the façade a distinctly amateurish look. This not only affected the curb appeal but also raised concerns about the long-term structural integrity of the house. Cameron Homes dismissed my concerns, suggesting that these were merely "cosmetic issues" and not a priority for repair.

Moreover, the garden drainage system was incorrectly installed, leading to significant waterlogging every time it rained. This not only damaged the lawn but also began to affect the foundation of the house. Cameron Homes did send a team out to assess the damage, but their solution—a simple patch job—proved to be ineffective. I've since had to hire an independent contractor to correct their mistakes, at my own expense.

Then there’s the matter of the electrical system. Several outlets in the house were improperly wired, posing a serious safety risk. On two occasions, the circuits tripped without warning, leaving half the house without power. Despite these clear hazards, Cameron Homes delayed sending out an electrician for weeks, and when they finally did, the problem was only temporarily resolved. It’s taken multiple visits from an independent electrician to get the electrical work up to standard.

The final straw for me was discovering that the windows were not properly sealed, allowing drafts and moisture to penetrate the interior. Over time, this has led to mold growth in several rooms. Cameron Homes’ response was dismissive, suggesting that the mold was due to “improper ventilation” on my part, rather than acknowledging their subpar installation work.

In light of these experiences, I would advise anyone considering Cameron Homes to proceed with caution. They appear to cut corners at every turn, and their customer service is less than responsive when issues arise. The lack of accountability and quality control is alarming and should be a serious consideration for any prospective buyers. If you’re thinking about purchasing a property from them, I would be happy to provide further details and documentation on the myriad problems I’ve faced.

One of the more absurd moments in this saga was when I discovered that Cameron Homes had built the fence *around* a live tree stump instead of removing it. If left untouched, I would have eventually had a tree growing straight through my fence. When I raised the issue, Cameron Homes claimed it wasn’t their responsibility, insisting that the tree stump belonged to the house behind me—which it clearly didn’t. Only after I said, "Fine, I’ll go ask them if they want their tree stump back," did Cameron Homes suddenly decide to replace the fence panels and shave down the stump. Even my neighbors knew Cameron Homes was just making excuses.

I've included one photo showing the fence they initially left, with the live tree still growing up through it. If anyone is interested in more pictures of the state they left my property in, feel free to email me, and I’ll be happy to share.

I was very optimistic about buying a new build property, but after lots of searching we thought we found an ideal property for our family of five to settle down in. Nothing is ever perfect so there was one downfall, a busy main road at the front of the development. But upon reviewing the site plans with the Cameron Sales team we were delighted that there was pedestrian access to the village via a pathway on the plans. Upon purchasing the property this was not in place, but we were reassured it would be completed soon.

Fast forward 16 months, countless phone calls, what seems like a million emails, multiple Cameron Homes Directors, and still no pathway. Several reports of near miss incidents on the main road and Cameron homes still have not delivered as they have promised.

There have been promises made, even dates booked, but no delivery. Our money was taken for our four bed detached home and we might as well be talking to a poorly laid mortar splattered wall.

The disappointment, stress, upset and anger I feel over Cameron homes cannot be put into words.

Please please please do not choose Cameron Homes as your home builder, they seem better than the rest, but they are just a money hungry sales company with no thought given to their customers.

I work in customer service led organisation and I would be absolutely mortified to work with such a terrible company. It seems to be rife at all levels, unprofessional on the phone and via email if you are lucky enough to get a response.

I’m not one to leave damming reviews, but this is one worthy of it.

I really have to question the review below. After two years, Cameron’s obligations cease and your guarantee is then within NHBC surely? I can only say, that having recently moved into a Cameron Home, Cameron have exceeded our expectations at every stage and on every level both before and after completion. I was very wary about buying a new build, having read countless horror stories, yet our experience has been an extremely positive one. Our Sales Advisor Sally , Site Manager Larry and all of his workforce at Swithin’s Wood, Lower Quinton, go above and beyond to ensure that you’re nothing but happy clients. Cameron’s Head Office have fulfilled all our ‘extra and unusual’ requests when other builders would have not budged, resulting in the perfect home completely tailor-made to our desires. My husband and I are in genuine shock at how hard they work to make us completely satisfied with our home. My advice is to ditch the larger builders, clearly the smaller ones offer a much more personal service, you actually feel like one of the family. Thank you Cameron Homes, we’re living the dream as we live IN the dream.

Had many issues with the house from basic plumbing fitted incorrectly to poor workmanship on extras I had paid for. Now I am in the position where issues are still happening relating to the original build and Cameron have washed their hands of it.

I would not recommend using this company if you are planning on buying a new home.

Sadly the customer service is very poor at Cameron Homes.
I have lived in our new house for well over a year now and still waiting for a footpath to be started so I can get to the local village safely. It has been very stressful and something that should have been done already.
I have had a battle with Cameron and they just don't seem to care or listen.
Outstanding snags still to be done also.

The same as my wife said. We've been in the house 18 months and still snags from day one have not been done. Brickwork is poor and most left dirty. They portray the image of quality but are no better then any other..

Ongoing issues for the last 18 months. Resolution is slow, constantly passed from one director to another (well I say director!!) Totally unprofessional response to emails and being passed down the ladder when complaints of this nature should be dealt with by somebody who knows what they are doing.

Outstanding snagging issues and we have lived in the property for 18 months! Some of those issues date back to the day we moved in.

An absolute abomination of a company to deal with.
