Had an issue with the car while visiting family before moving on to the south coast. I left the car with them on Monday morning. They identified the problem, sourced the necessary part, and returned the car to me first thing on Wednesday. Their prompt and efficient service meant that I didn't have to alter any of my plans or bookings. A first rate service. I would definitely recommend them.

We aren't from the area, but this garage were really helpful when we broke down close by, fitted us in quickly & were very honest & helpful, even good enough to get the car moved to a family member nearby in our absence. Would definitely use again (the nearby family member recommended them in first place and use often, experiencing the same level of good service)

AVOID.
Took my car in to Great Chesterford Engineering as my brakes were not working properly. The garage signed off my car as fixed and it was immediately apparent upon driving they were not fixed as I had almost had a collision. Finally, got my car back after almost 2 weeks (no courtesy car available) and it completely cuts out. Thankfully, I was somewhere safe when this happened. But dread to think if I wasn’t!

Took my car to a different garage and they fixed it within the day. I was told I was over charged for parts that I may not have needed.

Will never go here again. Was not offered any sort of refund/compensation considering the car had been signed off as fixed.

I have a knocking noise coming from the front of my car and have already spent over £1000 (new full front suspension including drop links and anti roll bar link along with two lower arms and nearside front wheel bearing). The knocking noise was still present so the only thing left was the steering rack. Before I spent another £550 getting that replaced I took her to these guys to see if they could confirm it was the steering rack. They agreed it could be the steering rack as everything else that could cause knocking had already been replaced. They were very helpful and friendly and I would recommend them. In the end they couldn't find fault and didn't even charge me for the half hour they spent on her. Great, honest mechanics.

Very efficient. Took the car in for a service and MOT, they rang me up with good time in order to get 2 new tyres for the same day, so the car could pass it's MOT. Very helpful and they gave lots of advice regarding tyres. Would recommend!
