I cannot fault the dedication to providing an outstanding level of customer care. We recently had an absolute disaster with our house whereby the porch canopy collapsed around 7pm one evening. By 7:30am the next morning, they had sent a team to inspect and clear away the mess. Within a matter of hours later, we had a comprehensive action plan for the repairs and a full apology for the inconvenience caused. They took full accountability and couldn’t have acted in a more compassionate way. Within the next week, we had our new canopy fitted, a new house sign, a new light, repairs to the damaged brick and sill and they even planted a few new plants and remulched the front garden for us to ensure our complete satisfaction! I honestly cannot thank Chestnut Homes enough for everything they’ve done and the compassion and humility shown towards us. Thank you - Lee

This could have been a good 4-5 star review, as I think my home is great and have no issues with the building itself and the building snags/defects were a minimum. However, the drainage was shocking, after multiple complaints they finally investigated the issue, it turns out an access point located in my garden had been buried in and covered over with the turf, so in order to ensure the drains coming out of my house were working as they should the access point was dug out and a manhole cover put in. By doing this they of course dug up the lawn, installed the manhole, filled in and put some turf down. Unfortunately the hole was not filled in correctly and I now have dip in the ground where they had dug. Between March and November I continued to complain that the work was not done to a satisfactory standard, today I give up, I've been to B&Q and got the materials I need to fix it myself, in the end the stress just wasn't worth it. I'm so glad I'm actually out of the defects period now and thus never have to deal with their incompetence and general distain for their customers again!

By all means buy a house from them if it suits your needs, but be forewarned they will act like you're a ghost if you have an issue with them and gaslight you when you tackle them about it.

Worst experience of our lives. House wasn’t snagged properly, Sales advisor just wasn’t interested, just fobbed us off to the most useless "Customer Care" person I have ever known. Took well over 12 weeks to sort problems which included, paintwork, patio doors not fitting, scratched kitchen units, kitchen sink scratched, slabs loose, bath scratched, light switches wired up wrong. Meant to be a dream move into a new home, Not a chance! Even after complaining to head office didn’t hear a thing from them. Having spoken to neighbours, most people on the estate have suffered the same. All saying how useless and non helpful Customer Care woman is. Advice is to steer clear of these cowboys, real shame as could be a nice house.

Very poor quality houses. Just moved into my new build 3 months ago and it is terrible. If somebody walks on the ground floor too hard the whole floor shakes. The upstairs floor rattles the furniture when the floor is walked on. You may as well not bother having internal walls as you can hear everything even with the door closed. If you drop something on the upstairs floor it travels through to the neighbour's house we can even hear our neighbour's dog running around. It was a big mistake moving into a chestnut home. Several electronic devices have failed in the last few months and most recently my PS3 has failed bearing in mind it worked with no issues at all in my old property I plug it in here and it worked for 5 minuets and then failed. Also my lower watt light fittings keep blowing their bulbs so that tells me that the electrics are faulty and I have the fact of my living room light going off and on again then there was a burning smell. Also I have the downstairs lighting trip the breaker with no explanation and I have reported this problem and this disgrace of an housing developer is saying that there is nothing wrong well I am going to get a private electrician in and when the cause is found well you will be in a lot of bother. I am going to bring in the NHBC this and other issues! Oh and you might want to remove your business description you do not think of everyone you just think how can I cut corners to save every penny possible! Oh and I have even had a small electric shock through one of my devices so I returned the item to receive a replacement and the replacement does the same I have just had a shock right now!

What an “Alford” (Awful) experience!
What an “Alford” (Awful) experience! Had I taken the time to read the genuinely critical reviews on here, I would have steered clear of this company and their practices:

Poor customer service from them lead to them taking a “Reservation deposit” on a property that they told me was secure for me while I completed the “easy mover” option for the purchase. But as with all these badly managed companies the “customer “ comes last!!!

Details were taken, forms sent to me appointments booked, mortgage paperwork completed and then a silly salesperson rings me to say “Hiya, I have some bad news, we have taken a deposit on the plot you wanted” ~ Are these people for real

Get your company ethics in place, for the sake of your own reputation. Wasting peoples time is pointless. Why have options if your not going to follow them. Poor management definitely poor sales process and after reading some of the comments on here poor build quality!!

Chestnut homes @ Bridgeways you have let yourselves down ~ Again by the sounds of it!

Don't bother buying from chestnut homes. I have spent the last 5 years getting stuff redone due to how quick these homes are built. Cheap materials and poor quality workmanship. But as things are out of warranty they won't fix it. Took 3 years before they stopped quick fixing our ensuite bathroom and finally ripped it all out but its still not sorted. Didn't buy a new house to spend a small fortune fixing poorly done work.

Moved into LN6 in June this year into the new development and immediately found problems, not little marks on the wall but a leak in the kitchen that had ruined the new flooring and kitchen cabinets before we'd even walked in. Fine.. mistakes happen. However, after 3 months of chasing still nothing has been done about it and we receive no updates.

Estate is lovely, houses look great but the customer service and aftercare we've received has been a joke.

Very disappointed with our experience.

Really nice houses and ok at carrying out snagging although left waiting a year for non urgent snagging issues. To be clear we expect all new builds to have snagging and ours has had its fair share and urgent ones usually sorted in 2 weeks. Road through estate hasnt been finished, despite being due for completion a year ago. Every excuse is given by the sales reps and head office dont respond to messages. Road is under 3 inches of water every time it rains. Dont believe me head to phase 3 Coningsby and see for yourself. On a plus note the kids love playing in the 3 lakes as we now call them.
