I engaged the services of CK Architectural in August 2020 during the pandemic. They were really good with the correspondence before my first appointment gathering information about my requirement.

I was given a clear idea upfront of potential costs for drawings, building regs, planning permission etc and what was included in general terms before I met the architect.

Chris Lawson came out and did the first client visit in early September 2020. We had an hour going through my requirements and Chris taking measurements before he went off to draw plans.

I had a very clear idea in my head what I wanted and wasn't particularly looking for ideas but Chris came up with some great suggestion to enhance my plan.

CKA supported me through the planning process making any necessary changes as needed.

I engaged them to do my project management also and I am glad I did. They sourced a builder for me and helped me with the estimates. Matt my project manager came out to meet me to go through the estimates when they came in and then drew up the contract with the builder.

He oversaw on a weekly basis the build. Visiting site to ensure that things were progressing. Once the actual structure was in place he came out as necessary to sign things off.

I am so glad I had a project manager as I would never have been able to cope with working full time and dealing with issues as they came up. He had the difficult conversations with the builder and pushed then as needed to ensure that the project was signed off.

Would I recommend them as a company, absolutely. Would I engage them for project management, again absolutely.

I can say with complete confidence that the service I received from my first email, subsequent conversations and discussions I have had with them, that you can rest assured they listen. They are competent and have your vision at the heart of all they do.
I have been delighted by their care and attention to detail from the admin staff to the architect himself. It was a hassle free process and their costs are clear from the start.
So, if you are looking for an architect you may, like I was, be nervous of an online company. I was nervous because I have only ever dealt face to face before. I worried about:
‘Will it be like I want / need it to be?’ Will I get chance to say ‘no I did not mean it like that' and not incur horrendous tweaking charges?’ These and many other questions were going through my head and I was very unsure about engaging an online service for my project. Don’t be concerned they really listen and care about your vision and needs. They are amazing. Thank you everyone involved in my project.
