We hired a stump grinder through Keaten at the Godstone depot which was booked in only two days prior. We arrived early Friday morning to collect the stump grinder which was far larger than I had used previously and was remote controlled. We were shown how to use it and once we arrived on site the machine did all the hard work for us. Communication was excellent and the machine itself was superb, so much so that I’ve now decided to abandon thoughts of purchasing my own and will now continue to use this excellent company. I’ve already told a lot of people about my positive experience but hopefully this review will reach many more. Thanks again 😀👍👌

World Class Service

Coppard Plant Hire Limited completed the first stage of our driveway upgrade for our new build holiday let, with exceptionally high standards and an ethos of integrity and transparency that I encountered very rarely during our build process.

The project was very challenging because the driveway is sinuous, approximately 124 metres long, with a very steep slope and is adjacent to a very large pond, in ancient woodlands.

Quin Coppard visited to assess the job and gave my husband, Chris, and I, expert advice to save us costs.

This was unusual in my experience because I had been conned by several contractors previously and the construction industry is a minefield of unregulated operators whose sole intention is to over- charge for work with little or shoddy output.

The pricing structure with options to reduce expenses was explained in detail.

The driveway was regenerated and resurfaced with granite MOT sub base for tar and chippings (to be carried out).

Before this was done, the existing tarmac was excavated and the slope was graded to reduce the steepness and strengthened with cement.

Two operators, Keith and Matt, were on site promptly every day, even in heavy rain, and worked steadfastly to complete this first stage in the most cost effective way possible.

Both men stabilised an area at the bottom of the driveway with membrane and rubble because it was under threat of flooding, to save us increased cost for MOT.

This problem was unforeseen and corrected enthusiastically with a desire to ensure that the finished surface was fit for purpose.

Keith and Matt were always courteous, cheerful, kind and supportive and exceeded my expectations of the outcome.

Quin Coppard ordered the MOT and ensured that it was delivery daily on schedule.

Arnold, who was in charge of bookings, Debbie, who was my contact for billing, David, who delivered the machinery, all reflected this high level of professionalism, great cheer, and commitment to get our project completed on time with ample resources.

One contractor who had made a site visit to assess the job stated immediately that he could not do it and recommended Coppard Plant Hire Limited.

I understand completely the reasons for his recommendation and everyone I chatted with about the project spoke highly about the integrity of the company.

I am truly grateful for the works carried out with superb expertise.

We are yet to start the second stage of the project – the laying of the tar and chippings – because Quin Coppard will not carry out the works until the weather is suitable.

It is good to know that there are still companies that strive to keep their reputations intact, through honesty, integrity, diligence and professionalism and Coppard Plant Hire Limited is one of them.

I was tearful when Keith and Matt left after having been on site for four days but they will be back to complete the second stage of the project – tar and chippings – and I hope to post pictures after the project is completed.

I have updated this review with some photos of the challenging driveway works that Coppard Plant Hire Limited carried out brilliantly and professionally. All members of their team made the process seamless with kindness and helpfulness. I am forever grateful.

We used Coppards to build a path around our village playing fields, and to improve the drainage.
They were not the cheapest quote but provided a higher specification and project managed the overall project so were excellent overall value.
