After recently purchasing a new build from db contacts we have had nothing but a positive experience so far, Martin and Michael have been quick to address any minor snags and have these rectified. We have been so impressed with the finish of the house! Would recommend db contracts to anyone.

Contrary to what some reviewers have posted, I have contacted Martin on a number of occasions and found him to be very polite, helpful and totally professional. My partner moved into her new home some weeks ago, and apart from a couple of minor snags (which you expect from a new build), the house is built to a high standard.

Martin responds immediately to emails / texts and has done his best to sort out the minor snags. The company build beautiful homes.

On buying the property it looked great, but don’t judge a book by its cover.

After care is pathetic. They try to worm out of anything, always stating their work is “correct”. Doors wouldn’t close and it took weeks to get them fixed. A door isn’t flush to the frame and is bent to this day, 3 years later, because it was the “heat that did that” despite it being like that since we moved in.

Martin is their “Post-completion manager” and argued everything I put to him.

Most recently I had a plumber come to check on an issue, understanding it was outside of the builder warranty. The plumber stated there was an issue with initial installation and that it was a building issue. Martin disagreed based on one image and refused to come to the property to check it.

Hugely disappointing service.

Avoid this company at all costs. I strongly regret not believing the other negative reviews.

Edit:

Added photos of how the soil stack was installed in the roof space. Duct tape..? Really? If this is what is considered ‘installed correctly’, I’d be majorly concerned. If DB would like to actually fix their ‘work’, they can get in touch as I’ve chased them for years with no joy.

I have never met a company so disengaged with their clientele. When I moved into the new house I went back and forth with Martin Rankin for at least 1 year trying to compromise with him. Wouldn't fix stair carpet that was left half completed and nails sticking up which my son cut his foot on. Wouldn't fix 2 cracked patio tiles in back garden that were reported before we even moved in. Wouldn't fix loud clicking noise coming from shower, blamed it on 'pipes expanding from hot water'. Wouldnt fix doors around the house just blamed it on the heat expanding the wood, which according to other reviews seems to be his go to excuse. In the end he just kept refusing to come near my house and fix any snags so i had to go with someone else because of his sheer lack of interest and ignorance towards me and total disregard for my family home. Found out recently that they also left a huge hole in my roof, and have found out the hard way. Obviously something your regular new home owner doesn't climb up and check when they move in. Again I have contacted them and no response. My biggest regret in buying this house is that I didn't research this company. They're all smiles until they take their money and you're left with all the damage. As if a house and home aren't expensive enough all this company do is add to your worries. It wasn't just Martin, I requested the company actually got me someone else to deal with and they refused.

IF YOU'RE BUYING BRAND NEW, AVOID ANYTHING THESE GUYS TOUCH AT ALL COSTS. Absolute disgrace.

I was very pleased with John Dobbin and his team, they made sure I was happy with everything when handing over the apartment to me.

Had this fault come up on my boiler, contacted Martin Rankin at DB Contracts, he sent Steven their plumber out the same day, he realised it was a electrical problem and contacted Glow Worm directly and an engineer came the next day and replaced the faulty electrode, great customer service from DB Contracts problem resolved very quickly.

Workmanship and management is awful. I will never buy another house built by DB contracts. They don't fix any Snags and will worm themselves out of everything they can. Avoid at all costs. Absolute joke they are.

I found DB Contracts and staff to be very helpful and pleasant to work with. Very quick to respond to emails and follow up on any issues. Very happy with service.
