We were very lucky to have worked with Mick via a recommendation. We approached him with a very loose plan to renovate and improve an inherited property.
Mick listened to our hopes and plans for the property and really took the time to understand what we hoped to achieve. He understood this would be our forever home and offered us ideas and creative input that we hadn't even thought about.
He drew up three detailed plans with differing budgets and once we had decided he then drew up the architectural plans and documents.
Mick then took the time (hours) to talk through and refine every detail of the project from floors to plug sockets. This left us no surprises in terms of budget or scope of project and prevented us running into extra costs.
He dealt with planning permissions/council/building regs.
We are thrilled with the end result and cannot recommend him enough.

Mick and his team designed our ground floor kitchen, diner extension. We hadn't been through anything like this before so we didn't know what to expect, but Mick explained the whole process to us and put us at ease. He produced the designs, obtained the planning permission, arranged the structural drawings for us with another company and put us in touch with a private Building Regs company. Our plans were very detailed and thorough which was important to us because we were removing a number of external and internal walls and the steel work was extensive. We didn't have to leave any decisions to our builder which he appreciated, right down to the number of spot lights we needed. Our builder had worked with Mick's plans before and he said they were fantastic because they were so detailed - apparently this is quite rare. I commented that Mick's team was the BMW of architects! We definitely saved money on the build because of the quality and detail of Mick's plans and we are very happy with our 'zoned' kitchen, dining and lounge areas. I would not hesitate to recommend Mick to anyone.

Mick Baird was my architect for the full redesign and renovation I did on my house in Archway, North London, back in 2015. I chose Mick from 3 different architects and it is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! Mick was really easy to get on with and helped me explain my vision for my project whilst providing different ideas and suggestions. He made it very easy for me to ask any questions, no matter how stupid they seemed to me.
He guided me through every step of the way in the 6 month planning stages. Then he worked brilliantly with my contractor during the 6 month build period. My project finished on time and in budget which was is in part due to Mick’s thorough and detailed planning which he communicated to me every step of the way.
Most importantly is that I thoroughly enjoyed working with Mick and he made the whole potentially stressful process one I remember very positively. I would highly recommend Mick and his company to anyone requiring a highly professional and also personable team to work with.

We approached Mick to help us with a ground floor extension and reconfiguration of the existing rooms. We liked him right from the off. He properly listened to us and what we wanted to get out of the project, and challenged our ideas of what were possible - not only creating the open plan space that we craved, but also managing to fit in a little utility room and shower room where we least expected it. He also dealt with the planning application, advised on a delicate boundary issue and recommended our builder, with whom he liaised throughout the build. A year on, we still can't get over the difference he's made to the house. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend him for similar projects.
