Sandy designed and managed the application and approval of our extension. He also gave sound advice during the building work and expertly managed the build-over process with Severn Trent on our behalf. His plans for the extension were clear and concise as noted by both the builders and the building inspector. The extension was completed on schedule and within budget and looks wonderful. This is a testament to Sandy's great work. I have no hesitation in recommending him to others and will certainly use him again in future projects.

We appointed DJS Architectural earlier this year to design a single storey extension of approx 30m2 at our daughters house in Long Eaton.
Sandy came up with a good design and after minor amendments put it forward to the Planning Authority.
It was approved and the build commenced in Late August 2024.
It was a well defined process working with Sandy, with payments made after completion of the various stages.
We took it to the point of him obtaining one quotation from a builder he was familiar with, and gave the names of other builders for us to contact.
We went with one of these builders after tender ajudication and negotiation on minor points, and Sandy drew up the RIBA contract and advised throughout the process.
Sandy is fully up to speed with all the requirements of planning and building regulations, thermal insulation etc.
We have had a few queries during construction to date, and he has advised on these without additional payment as they were of a minor nature.
I am happy to reccomnd DJS Architectural to guide you through the sometimes complex planning, design, and construction process.

Sandy has been brilliant throughout the design and Approval process of my home extension. He prepared the plans and drawings and submitted the application for approval. He chased the application up quicker than I even imagined. He is a very thorough person who’s down to details. This was obvious in his work, which I was very pleased with. He was always accessible and quick to respond to any query. Even the builders lauded his work. I will recommend Sandy to anyone looking for a good quality work.

DJS have been a pleasure to work with. Even though we were a very small job, I felt like we got the care and attention that any large job would have received. Very happy with the service from DJS. We found Sandy to be very efficient and reliable to work with. He was upfront about his service and fees. He was very patient and clear at communicating the various options available to us e.g. in terms of materials, amendments to the designs. Having no experience of building previously, Sandy helped us to feel informed about the construction process in general and was happy to give an opinion on particular points when we asked. Above all, at every stage of the project he let us know when he would complete a task and he stuck to his deadlines - very appreciated.

I have employed Sandy to complete three stages of an extension to my home, these are to prepare the plans and drawings, prepare and submit the planning application and then get builders to submit quotes for the work and assist in deciding which will be best for the job.
Sandy is very thorough with his planning and drawings and from the first time he visited to explain what he did he went through all aspects that needed to be considered from design to where the drains would go. I had very few questions for him as he'd covered anything I could think of in his explanations but, if I did need to ask, he was always available to assist by 'phone. Everything has gone very smooth throughout all stages.
Everyone who has needed to see the drawings / plans has said how comprehensive they are; I agree!
