After viewing some work done on a neighbour's house I asked for a quote for my roofing and rendering. I received a quote by email and a list of jobs to be done. I accepted. Sam and Mark turned up when they
said they would. That is wonderful. Over the past few years I have had builders say, it will be July, sorry going on holiday, it will be August, it will be September. Then nothing gets done. So when the old rendering was being removed I was hopeful that my backyard was going to be looking better. There was no intrusion on the inside of the house, they brought their own kettle and water etc. so I wasn't making brews. If they had to nip out to buy an unforeseen part, I was told. They didn't disappear for a few hours like other builders have done, they went and got what they needed, came back and carried on.
There was no loud shouting or loud music, just a background sound and discussing the next move, for example, more cement mixing required. I experienced continuous, thoughtful and professional workmanship. At the end of the day most of the rubble and dust was swept up, bagged and carefully placed ready to be removed daily if possible. If bags were being left you were told they wouldn't be staying long.
I am happy with the work that has been done. The weather although hot and dry did not stop the work. I have been given advice on allowing the rendering to completely dry before any brackets for the new waste pipes are put in place. This to me is professional. Some wouldn't think about these small but important procedures.
Would I give them another job in the future?
Yes I would. I look at my backyard now and it is so lovely, the roof is so straight and neat. It has given me inspiration for what had become a scruffy terraced house backyard.
Friendly, hardworking, reliable and honest. I say honest because I mentioned my flagging and Sam said, they are fine, they don't need doing. Some would say, 'Ah yes, those need replacing.'
So going forward Driver's Building and Roofing will be my first call for other outside jobs I no doubt will be requiring in the future. Neighbours who have seen their workmanship are also thinking of getting quotes.

Sam from Driver's Building and Roofing was honest, reliable and had an excellent work ethic from start to finish. I had an entire re-roof and also the rebuilding of an unsafe stone chimney. I was kept informed throughout the whole process of how the work was progressing, with lots of photos supplied by Sam. Sam Driver has made an excellent job of re-roofing the house and pointing the chimney. He was very good to deal with, turned up when he said he would, tidied up at the end of every day, and used an equally good firm of scaffolders.

Sam and his lads did a great job with rebuilding our boundary wall which collapsed. I thought maybe the job would be too big but no they took it on and built it up perfectly straight and level, with new foundations. Will be going back for my future construction needs for sure!

Sam and his team have professionally carried the work on our stone roof. They changed the timbers, rebuilt the chimney and put the stone tiles back on. They are nice and straight now, they’ve put a lot of work into making them look really good. They cared for every detail and made sure the joining side with the neighbours is also done well and secure. Highly recommend! Already asked them to do the steps in the garden as well!

From the first contact with Sam he came promptly to discuss the works we required. It became evident that our varied work of building, roofing, paving and landscaping was all within their capabilities. The work to the front of the house, complete renovation of the front roof, and chimney stack have all been carried out to the highest standard. Work continues on the garden wall, paving to the front door, and across the front and side of the house. Sam and his team are hard workers, reliable, honest and do what they say they are going to do. Sam also suggests various ideas that we had not thought of at all. As other reviewers have noted, the site is left tidy and clean at the end of each day. Also, Sam handles all the logistics of ordering materials and supplies and having them delivered when he requires them. In summary, we believe their work is excellent, and can highly recommend Sam and his team without hesitation.

Sam returned to our property just before Christmas 2024 until the end of March 2025 to deal with the complete renovation of the back roof, the outrigger roof, and the rear chimney in the same way the front had been completed in early summer 2024. Following this, a large amount of work was done to the back yard and garage drive. This required a lot of digging out so that the new patio and drive could be laid in Indian Sandstone paving. During this extensive phase part of the drive wall was removed, new walls were built separating the patio from the drive together with Sam building new planters, faced with stone cladding. The front and side garage walls, together with outside garden walls, were K-rendered. The inside walls to the drive and the rear of the planter walls were finished using wood effect composite cladding. Where the patio meets the house new drainage was installed, along with a re-routed new drainpipe from the outrigger roof feeding into it. The final part of this phase is to seal all the paving stones from 2024/25 when the latest ones have been down for 3 months and have stopped efflorescing. It has to be emphasized that the transformation was almost wholly down to Sam's vision and ideas, as to what could be done with this part of the property. As mentioned regarding the work done in 2024, Sam and Mark are excellent builders and roofers. We are very pleased with this second phase and can wholly recommend Sam and Mark.

I was so pleased with Sam and his team at Drivers Building and Roofing, they went above and beyond to help me construct the perfect roof for my new porch. For the quality of work I rate all 5 stars. Nothing was too much trouble ensuring I was happy with the job and they left each day leaving everything perfectly clean and tidy.
I highly recommend these guys and would have no hesitation in instructing Sam and his team back for any further jobs I may need doing in the future.
