For a very long time, although we didn't know it, we had a very slight seepage of water from a central heating pipe joint, embedded in the concrete base of our kitchen floor. When it became apparent that there was detectable moisture beneath our wooden laminate floor, we were told by our insurance company that Garrards would be responsible for all of the work of stripping the laminate to allow access for our own plumbers to trace and fix the leak, & then of replacing the floor.This included the removal of half of our kitchen cupboard units, plus fitted fridge & freezer The presence of a bitumin coating on the surface of the concrete, which was confirmed to contain asbestos, meant that work had to be suspended until the bitumen was removed, & Garrards organised an approved contractor to do so.The leak was located and fixed by our own plumbers, but then Garrards did a fantastic job of organising the complete drying of the floor, before restoring the kitchen floor with a flooring material of our choice. Apart from the actual tracing and repair of the leak, carried out by our own plumbers, Garrards staff organised and impleted the necessary work of dis-assembling units, floor removal, arranging for bitumen removal, and then restoring everything to exactly (& I mean absolutely exactly !) the way that the kitchen looked before all of the work started, apart from a new floor covering (which we think is better). The quality of the work that had to be done - painting, refitting of units, relaying the floor - everything was to the highest standard. What also deserves a mention is the attention shown to being very tidy and clean, with protective coverings being applied to everything that required it (even the front drive, when outside sawing was necessary for new skirting boards. If 6 stars could be awarded for their rating then they would get them.

Garrards offered a brilliant service. We were told the work would take up to 4 weeks, but they did an extremely polished job under 2! The builders were some of the best we have ever seen, were also incredibly tidy and always completely cleaned up afterwards and really nice. Highly recommended
