We recently had a survey on a house we were interested in buying which was completed by Mr Glen Tipping. The office staff were most helpful when we made contact and kept us up to date by email and phone call as appropriate. The survey was actually completed very quickly after we had requested it. We were so very impressed with the level of detail in the written survey, which was very comprehensive, but was made easy to understand with lots of pictures added to explain the text. A follow up phone call with Mr Tipping further enhanced our understanding of the findings from the survey. We were left feeling we had a thorough understanding of the issues raised. We can thoroughly recommend Mr Tipping if you too are wishing to have a survey completed prior to house purchase. We feel very lucky to have had the very professional services of Mr Tipping and we don’t think we could have received a better service. This small team were exceptionally helpful and attentive to our needs and requirements throughout our survey. As a mortgage broker, I have referred clients who are purchasing, to GTA Chartered Surveyors. In some cases Glen has highlighted issues that have allowed my clients to either renegotiate the purchase price, or in some cases pull out of a purchase due to issues highlighted by him. The reports are always very comprehensive with numerous photographs. We often ask our clients for feedback, and this has always been very positive.

I would not recommend GTA. Things started off normal enough and they seemed friendly and professional. The work was supposed to billed in installments. When one of my payments was a week late due to being away for work, I received a shirty email from the accounts team chasing me to pay the invoice. Fine. This was then followed up with a completely unnecessary and downright rude email from one of the managers applying even more pressure to pay the invoice. I explained that I had been away from work and would pay the invoice promptly, which I did. The work they were then supposed to complete took them more than two months to deliver despite repeated follow ups and a reminder that I was under a deadline for an ongoing job. As it turns out, I was wasting my energy. When I finally received the final survey and provided them to my project partner I needed to pay someone else to redo the survey due to the “huge number of inaccuracies with the floor plan.” A disappointing and expensive mistake.

I wouldn't recommend GTA—it was a truly awful experience. Before paying for a Level 3 search, I was assured that I could contact the surveyor for further clarification once the report was completed. However, when I reached out via email to get more details, I was shocked to be told I would need to pay an additional £95 on top of the £579 I had already paid.
I also spoke with a team member, who was incredibly rude and condescending, especially when I didn't understand some of the terminology used in the report. This was my first time using a surveyor so naturally I had follow up questions.
Overall, I strongly advise against using their services. Save your money and go elsewhere where you’ll get the service you deserve. I will never use this company again.

After giving them a review, they then threatened to take me to court for giving them a bad review and mentioning people’s names. If the service was great why would I complain ? No apologies for their bad service or acknowledgement of the previous emails sent to them instead they choose to make threats about taking me to court.
