We have recently completed a full renovation of our 1970s linked detached house. The process started with an initial consultation with Carrie from Hampshire Architect, to understand what we could do with the existing space and if really any extension was required. We also looked at the cost implication of every option. Carrie, provided us sketches and cost breakdown to help with our planning. We are incredibly pleased with the service and can say with great confidence that had we not sat down with Carrie at the start, our planning and budgeting would not have been as thorough. The result is a renovation that we are incredibly happy with and achieved within our budget. Sincere thanks to Carrie for the consultation and recommendations. With the huge rise in building costs in the last few years, we decided to reconfigure the space we already have rather than extend. Carrie spent a whole day drawing plans and discussing how we could better use our space, bearing in mind our budget and the practicalities of how each room is used. It really was invaluable as a first step to working out what work we actually want to do in the house. I highly recommend!

We contacted Carrie having read the online reviews and looked at her website. We are considering having our 20 year old conservatory(built by former owners) demolished and a relatively large extension built in its place. Along with some internal remodelling the aim is to give ourselves a large kitchen/dining room/family area with separate utility room and addition snug.
Communication was prompt and courteous advising there would be a fair wait before she could visit should we wish to proceed due to the busy home improvement sector at the moment. We decided to wait as she clearly specialised in the kind of project we had in mind and said as much.
When Carrie visited she was easy to talk to and genuinely seemed to want us to make our home better. She quickly understood our ideas around the work we were considering undertaking and whilst taking this into account wasn’t shy in suggesting changes for budgetary, practical or aesthetic reasons. At the time of writing this review we have had our initial sketches and budget costings through. These have captured perfectly what was discussed and agreed whilst offering a plethora of options and professional advice. Carrie’s experience and expertise was clear from the outset and, perhaps most importantly we felt like she was listening and understanding us whilst using her skills to guide the eventual design. We’re just deciding whether to proceed with the build as the estimate is more than our initial budget but are very happy with the service provided and will, if we go ahead be sticking closely to the design.
