We decided to purchase a house with Hopkins homes and we have to say that Clare Canning was above and beyond in everything she did for us, nothing was too much trouble. Kind and caring about any questions we had, but above all very professional in her approach and made our move very smooth. An absolute credit to Hopkins homes, thankyou so much again.

Hopkins moved us into an unfinished house, which cost us around £4000 in fees that would have otherwise been avoided if they had taken the time to finish the house and complete to the proper standard. The other four properties in our phase of the development completed a month later, and we were essentially moved onto an active building site with work ongoing on both our home and the others at the same time. Contractors were letting themselves onto our property without permission and using our utilities. They dug up our lawn without asking and without notice. Hopkins refuse to acknowledge any of this and compensate us fairly. The house was completed to a diabolical standard, with us suffering a leak from our shower (which is installed incorrectly to begin with). After the leak we were stuck 6 weeks without a working shower cubicle in the middle of winter. Hopkins did not care about this, just giving excuse after excuse as to why it couldn't be sorted. It took nearly 10 months to complete the initial snagging list submitted when we moved in, and we still have ongoing issues that are yet to be resolved. We are not the only one to experience issues on our development - neighbours have also experienced extensive issues and have had to involve the NHBC to attempt to rectify their problems. This company only cares about your money - once they have it, they no longer care about your home, and you have have to fight to
even get them to do the bare minimum to address any issues that arise. Save yourself time, money and stress and do not buy a home from this company.

Lack of communication caused vulnerable people to be cut off from leaving our road by car. Hopkins closed the road to our house for tarmac work with no warning to anyone on our road, but warnings to other roads, blocking us in overnight for at least a day, potentially more as the work is only half done. Seems like they forgot our entire road, as the rude woman in customer services at their Barsham Vale site kept repeating that they "posted letters". My wife is disabled, and my neighbour is pregnant, and we've been blocked from leaving our properties by road. Exactly what would happen if a fire engine or an ambulance needed to come through I have no idea. They didn't post notice to anyone on our road, looks like they forgot the shared ownership people. Truly shocking service, and awful treatment of vulnerable people.

House is lovely & no real snags but standard of the rest of the site is awful. Pavements not finished nearly 4 years after buying the house, fencing falling apart, trees not replaced when broken years ago, grass sporadically cut and huge grass areas left to grow into just weeds.

The houses themselves are good quality. But the aftercare they claim on their website is just non existent and really, really poor.

Now having read so many poor reviews regarding Hopkins Homes, we have decided to look at the general housing stock and for a better build. One area we did notice, that for us, they're the first housebuilder to install wooden windows. We were not happy about this and believe that new homes can be exempt of VAT for such as UPVC double glazing, so why wouldn't you put these windows in. If I could give Hopkins zero stars, I absolutely would. The build quality is awful and the customer care is just as bad. I believed that paying a premium for a new build would result in better quality but it could not be further from the reality. I moved in over 24 months ago and I am still waiting for explanations to the dismal customer care and remedial works and am unfortunately waiting for further works to be completed. I would avoid at all costs.

AVOID! Do not waste your money. Shocking customer aftercare. I have outstanding issues which have not been addressed. Constantly chasing Hopkins for time lines, dates. They cannot give me anything. All I'm told is that they are chasing issues and it takes time.
My house doesn't meet building regs. NHBC are now involved. It's mentally and emotionally draining dealing with this company.
The Estate has been left unfinished. The management company refuse to take the site on until Hopkins have completed remedial works. Hopkins have left the residents in an appalling way.
Zero stars!
