We had Ian Hyde and Associates supply and install a new composite rear door to our 10 unit block of flats. He came recommended by our Managing agent, Brown and Co (no longer our agent). Mr Hyde sub-contracted the job out to a person unknown to us. The installation was possibly the worst job I have ever seen. It was entirely obvious that the 'installer' was not experienced in the fitting of composite doors, and insult to injury, even the silicone bead around the frame appeared to have been carried out with a blindfold on. The door was twisted in the frame so badly that light could be seen through the gap. The door was misaligned to the point that the door was hinge bound, the specified door restrictor simply wasn't fitted, which in turn allowed the brand new polished brass handle to smack into the adjacent wall.
The only thing that matched the breathtakingly appalling job was the utter contempt shown to the Roaches Court Board of Directors. Mr Hyde refused to meet and discuss the door, refused to send a proper tradesman to rectify the door and eventually, simply came and removed the door, leaving a gaping hole until the preferred company arrived some hours later.
If you are looking for a conscientious, trustworthy contractor who respects the customer and is willing to go the extra mile, RUN AWAY!
