Island roads get paid rather well to look after and maintain the roads across the isle of wight. Unfortunately, the workmanship is not exactly up to scratch. I have repaired the potholes in my street after waiting a considerable amount of time and sending copious amounts of emails. I had the phone put down on me last week when I called to ask when they would be out. There must be better companies about surly. 🤨

After receantly moving into our new property, our 1st order of buisness was to cut back and remove the very overgrown boundary hedge.
when doing so it exposed some badly damaged/deteariated pathway.
As trying to be responsible home owners we notified island roads, that there was now a patch of public pathway which was in a deteariated state after a quick phone call to lovely lady on the phone. They sent someone out very quickly to inspect it. After inspecting it the area was blanked off and the same evening a team from island roads turned up and repaired the hole and damage.
We were shocked by how quick this matter was dealt with, as we didn't think it would be deemed very urgent. But a real lovely surprise

Island roads, not an island company, nor do they stick to roads. Slightly confusing but there we go. Sometimes useful, sometimes not. Good luck getting anything sorted.

They have just finished our road. The Team were very helpful and professional at all times. Always ready to help is in and out of the road when safe to do so. It can't be easy working in the heat and wearing all the safety gear they have to wear. However, they remained cheerful and professional at all times.

The steward that delt with my issue was fantastic so he gets 5 stars but the service I received from the hub was dreadful no concept of how to talk to people or understanding of the problem if you have had a bad day or don't like the job move on or at least be polite to people.

Islans Roads come in for a lot of stick. I have worked with them professionally since they were Council and then in their new form. I can honestly say that I have had nothing but professional and genuinely good service from them. They don't always get it right, who does, but the individuals I have spoken to have honestly tried their best in a far from perfect world to resolve the issues I have reported.
