Asked for a boiler replacement quote for a cottage I own. Got a single sentence email saying the cost would be £3250. The boiler they quoted to install costs £1200 leaving £2050 for installation? All other quotes received were at or around £2k. I think they seriously need to think about adjusting their pricing. I had a boiler fitted for less in zone 2 London and that was more work.

My insurer referred me to JW Jones when my gas boiler broke down. Their level of service was first class from the start, the heating engineer arriving at the appointed time. He quickly identified the problem, obtained the necessary parts within a couple of hours and had my boiler repaired in no time. The engineer, Carl, was very polite, helpful and experienced in gas boiler problems. Before leaving he tidied up, checked my heating system thoroughly and explained exactly what he had done to get my boiler going. I would not hesitate to recommend this company.

Initially what seemed like a nice company and people. However failed to fix a problem which was initially called out for - not a big issue as the solar install was inherited with the house. Was promised support, in the form of the owner promising to investigate and source a replacement. Never heard anything back, despite chasing.

Asked for a quote in June regarding a complete install of an air source heat pump. Quote never received. Chased via phone and emailed twice, but never received anything.

A big let down and disappointment as the workers and owner appeared to be polite and professional.

MY boiler fan broke, hence boiler would not start. I live local and phoned them up. They sent an engineer out the same day. Fixed within a couple of hours of phoning them. Great service, will get them to service my boiler before winter.

Shambles. I have been a property professional all my working life, so I am afraid they picked the wrong eyes to pull the wool over. I inititally contacted this firm as my sister's heating had gone down in the depths of winter. I should have been suspicious from the start. It took two visits and more than six hours, and still they couldn't confidently identfy the issue. So, what started as a £500 repair, with no guarentees of success, quickly went to a £3.7K replacement. But, as the estimate turned in to a quote the pounds piled on , £3.7K went to £5.5K without any explanation. We'd asked for some extras too. What should have been circa £2.5K, was quoted at £8.5K. So, we'd gone from a £500 repair to a £14K replacement. In my opinion, the job was worth £6K. And, I should mention the 'tag' team. The guy I was talking to was full of charm and smarm. Nothing was ever his fault, it was always some else in the office. He even had the audacity to agree with my £2.5K estimate on the extras, against the £8.5K quote, and then blamed his Dad for the errant pricing. Unbelievable.
It is of course their perogative to charge what they like. It is our perogative to walk away, and to share our experience on sites like this. Make of it what you will. You have been warned.

In response to the owners response....You started to lose me with the first price hike. You only volunteered any suggestion of a 'mistake' when pushed. But, you really lost me when you sacrificed your father; when you stabbed him in the back, and blamed him. At this point, any last vestige of decency, integrity and trust flew out of the window. I knew that we were never going to do any business together and I closed the call. I am afraid this whole outcome is entirely of your making.

Heating system decided not to work! A phone call to J W Jones and an engineer came to the house. Problem identified and a new part fitted. Good telephone manner and excellent service by the engineers attending the house.
