We discovered that the main front wall of our 1750’s cottage was bowing away from the wall that wasn’t picked up in the survey! Robert, from King and Company, came out to investigate and was able to spot exactly what the issue was straight away. He was extremely professional and had excellent knowledge of properties of this age.

The work carried out was to an extremely high quality and using materials in keeping with a property of this age. The end results look fantastic and will last for many years to come. We are the homeowners who became part of the James King team when they were tasked to build an oak Garden Room attached to the house. Originally we had planned to have a mezzanine in our high-ceiled living room to act as a dining place - we live in a converted barn. James and team showed us that the plans we had been given would not work as specified. My wife said - why not outside and attached to the utility room? And so the project began. We are delighted everyday with the result, a dining room, a room to relax and watch the garden birds, at night to see the stars and to snooze after lunch. The oak frame was built off-site, dismantled and shipped to the foundations and assembled without nails, using dried oak pegs. We became involved at every step; the budget was accurate to within 5%; the team were hard workers - fitting a shingle roof, one tile at a time, is exhausting; they worked all weathers and cleared up beautifully afterwards. No drama and all delivery - we would use them again any day.
