We engaged Mark Wiffen of Marlin Design to take over from a previous Architectural practice. Our previous agents had brought onboard Mechanical & Electrical Engineers to support their work as well as Drainage Engineers. Mark talked through the process of working with Marlin Design and we understood that all this was overkill and not necessary. Mark took us through the Planning re-submission, and suggested alterations to the proposed layout. Now the project is complete we have a huge open plan Kitchen/Living/Dining area with large glazed rooflights that project large amounts of natural light into the middle of the house. We have been able to re-purpose other areas of the house, which if necessary can easily be adapted; the house is now future-proofed.
Mark has been able to introduce us to a number of his business contacts many of whom have worked on varies different elements of the build.

From the initial meeting with Mark Wiffen of Marlin Design we were impressed with his understanding of the needs of our family for a new home. Mark made welcome suggestions that became incorporated in the final design. Mark clearly explained the planning process and met all the deadlines that were set and was always prompt in responding to queries. The Building Regs Drawings and Specifications for the works were remarkably detailed and "foolproof". Unfortunately our first set of builders were appalling but with Mark's invaluable help in drafting reports of grave defects in workmanship we were able to cancel our building contract without the risk of litigation. The new builders are fabulous and we are near completion as at October 2021. We heartily recommend the excellent Marlin Design.
