Can’t recommend Nairn Construction (Lockerbie) highly enough!

They recently opened up my chimney breast, carried out all the necessary chimney work, and even fitted my stove — making sure everything was done safely, properly, and fully up to regulations so it was ready for me and my little family to use.

The whole process was smooth and stress-free. They turned up when they said they would, explained everything clearly, and took real pride in their work.

A big shoutout to Stuart, who did all the hands-on graft. He was professional, friendly, and so respectful of my home — you can tell he genuinely cares about the quality of what he does.

If you’re looking for reliable, skilled builders who do what they say they will (and do it well), Nairn Construction is the one to call. Absolutely delighted with the results!

Nairn Construction replaced our existing patio, and added a new raised patio to accomodate a BBQ and seating area. They also extended the patio to give us a separate outdoor dining area. In addition, new steps were built for our new conservatory,

A new front doorstep and paved area was installed and improvements were made overall to our very antiquated and inadequate garden drainage system to deal with excess water issues.

The weather was awful and it rained throughout but the men did an absolutely brilliant job and were industrious and polite from start to finish. I cannot recommend Nairn Construction highly enough for any project that requires cost effective, high quality, tidy work with great results.

I would give Nairn Construction a 5* plus if I could as I cannot rate them highly enough. I contacted several firms regarding conversion of part of our old house circa 1790 to create a 1st floor annexe flat. Mike from Nairn gave us the most confidence and assurance that the job would be completed on time, within our budget which was an excellent quote.
I knew any issues encountered with old houses would be dealt with without fuss or impact to the plan.
Converting a fire exit, old bedroom and corridor into a flat with kitchen & a living/dining room.
All trades plasterers, plumber and electricians along with their own colleagues were all managed superbly by Nairn.
A big shout out to Dan and Bellamy from Nairn for all their efforts, skilled finishing and attention to detail throughout the work. Also big thanks to the Electrician Gary and Andy the plumber for all their work too.
Impact to the house and living during the job was minimal.
Would highly recommend Nairn for all construction works and changes in your homes.
When we move onto other projects within our house they’ll be assigned the work.

We have no hesitation in recommending Nairn Construction for their outstanding professionalism and high quality work. These were both key elements in the success of our significant renovation project.

We acquired a large property that required extensive refurbishment inside and out. It was clear that the refurbishment would require multiple different skill sets and trades and we had a fixed deadline by which we needed the work complete so we could move into the property. A major added complication was that we were at that time living more than 300 miles away. For these reasons, we needed to find a company that we could trust to oversee the entire project in our absence and coordinate all of the third party trades and different skills as and when required, and ensure the quality of the completed work.

When we started searching for such a company, what impressed us with Nairn Construction was their ISO certification which gave us confidence that they would have the processes in place to ensure the best chance of a successful outcome, on time, and on budget.

However, at the end of the day, even with excellent processes, there were two other factors vitally important to success.

The first factor was people, and here again we cannot say enough positive things about all of the Nairn Construction staff from the top of the company to those working on-site. Everyone was friendly, professional, and no request or question was ever too much trouble.

The second important factor, particularly in our situation with being remote, was communication. We were impressed with the ease of communication with Nairn Construction via telephone, email, and other online tools, which ensured that we were regularly updated on progress and any questions/issues were quickly raised and addressed to avoid hold-ups. Because the communication was so good, it meant that we only had to visit the property in person once a month or so, and even then more so for our own interest than out of necessity.

Again, we cannot recommend Nairn Construction highly enough.

I cannot praise this company highly enough. They were utterly professional from start to finish. They advised me as to what was best for my yard but also listened and took on board what I wanted and needed. The guys who did the actual job were reliable, friendly, and highly skilled in their trade.

The yard and lonning not only look amazing but has also made a huge difference to the day to day running of the farm.

Mike kept popping up to oversee the quality control and was always friendly and made sure we were happy with the way the job was going.

I have already recommended this company to two other businesses and would have no hesitation in doing so again.

Reaaly good quality work, done on time for a reasonable price and with very little mess or disruption. I recommend Nairn Construction to anyone who wants building work done (big or small). I needed a Granny Flat extension built at the back of my house in Carlisle. There is no easy vehicle access and the ground level at the back of the house is a full floor below ground level in the house - all of the firms that I approached quoted ridiculous amounts until Craig and Mike came and had a look and just worked out ways to solve the problems; they came up with a sensible quote and fitted me in to their busy schedule. The extension was completed to a very high standard, on time and with virtually no impact to me (and my 3 cats) still living in the house. My Mum is delighted with the extension and all my friends recommend Nairn Construction to anyone that wants building work done off the back of the quality of my extension! I've had Nairn Construction back to do just a one day job making an internal doorway, and they were just as careful and just as good.

Last year, Storm Arwin devastated our back garden. Destroyed the fencing, a large canopy, green/hot house and large shed. Craig and his crew were amazing, here early everyday and finished after the light had gone.
The decking had, had it too.
The entire back was disposed of and completely redone with a whole new concrete base. New fencing with two secure gates and a huge heavy duty shed.
An amazing job and reasonably priced.
We are very pleased with the whole job and can thoroughly recommend this company.

We used Nairn Construction to renovate Laightown Kennels. Craig listened to how we would like the Kennels to be a secure area for our boarding dogs. Fences were erected and new exercise areas were made. Everything is exactly as we wanted it to be and we are very happy with it all.
A special shout out to Deek and Shaun who worked extremely hard throughout the project. I would highly recommend Nairn Construction.
