NGU did a bungalow conversion for me starting in December 2023 and finishing in February 2025. It was a big and project and I'm completely satisfied with the end result; the build quality is excellent. My project manager worked closely with me to make sure all the elements of the build met my requirements, as did the rest of the NGU team and their contractors. I believe that it took a building company of NGU's size and experience to be able to successfully complete this project and I felt that I was in safe hands throughout.

From our first chat and formal walk around to see what was needed I felt in safe hands, involved in the process and listened to.

As I am autistic and an amputee I had to imagine the works like a school project and made a scrap book with lots of questions with fabric samples and we collected tiles and tester paints in our many house trips homework quest.

I don't think I shall ever tire of the peace and serenity of our new surroundings. Thank you seems too small a word for all of everybody's time, enthusiasm, experience, dedication of the long hours. It’s made a huge difference already to my life and those I love (family/friends) can see us settled.

Level-access to front and rear of my property with beautifully built ramps and patio making access more accessible for my wheelchair. My en-suite accessible bathroom has been done out beautifully with everything I have chosen, even down to the tiles and how they were laid. Outside my patio door, Matt and his team have made a built-up patio with a nice brick ramp which is very accessible in my wheelchair.

Matt always kept us in the loop with the works that were going on. You always kept appointments and were punctual.

We wish you and the team every success in your next projects. I am happy to recommend you to friends and family. The customer care I couldn’t fault. I highly recommend NGU.

We recently had an extension, underfloor heating, a new kitchen, and a small cloakroom WC installed under the stairs. We have been very impressed with NGU and all the various tradesmen they used during the project. The updates on progress from Matt were greatly appreciated, along with the valuable suggestions and improvements throughout the project. All the staff were extremely friendly and kept the site clean throughout the development. We would 100% recommend them and were pleasantly surprised by how enjoyable the whole experience was, thanks to such a great team.

We were impressed with NGU from the first contact we had with Jack. He understood exactly what we were aiming to achieve with our new garage conversion and en-suite bathroom. Matt was our project manager and kept us fully informed with weekly updates by email and regular face to face meetings during the course of the work. We chose to work with NGU on our extension as we felt of all the builders that had quoted for us they had the best first impression. We liked their attention to detail, thoroughness and professionalism, qualities we look for and ones we felt were in line with how we ourselves like to work.

Throughout the build they worked in a clean and tidy manner and within the agreed areas on site. We had weekly updates from our project manager regarding progress and the plan for the following week.

All departments responded promptly to any questions and queries we had along the way and if the question for an external contractor this was always followed up swiftly too. We felt we had a very good working relationship with NGU and our input was valued.

We were extremely pleased with the finished result and feel it has been done to the high standard that we had hoped for and expected following the initial conversations.

We were particularly impressed with how well the job finished on schedule, exactly in line with what was outlined in the original plan.

We used NGU for a 6 month renovation/extension of our period home, they were on a shortlist recommended by our architect. Suffice to say we wouldn’t use anyone else in the future, we’re THRILLED with the outcome and found working with them a pleasure. The whole team is so friendly, professional and skilled; everything felt well-organised throughout and the job finished on time. Also the people they work with are great; the plumbers and electricians work on a lot of their jobs and so everyone knows each other, think that makes things a lot easier. Constructing a modern building within the curtilage of a Grade II listed house and inside a conservation area presented many challenges. The result is a modern space that harmonizes with the heritage building and includes contemporary features such as solar power and underfloor heating.
The NGU team has been great to work with and always polite. Simon and the groundworks team hand-barrowed meters of foundations in atrocious weather. We appreciated the clear weekly progress reviews and being informed of financial changes-both up and down. Matt, the project manager, kept everything on track, managing subcontractors, answering our questions with patience. His focus on build quality and attention to detail was crucial, and we valued his thoughtful approach. Definite recommend.
