We had some plans drawn up for a single storey kitchen extension by PDS Architectural Plans. Chris came out to see the job, understood our vision and gave some great advice on the project and planning requirements. We received the drawings really quickly and no re-work was required - very happy with the service and would highly recommend!

I never like to leave bad reviews but in this instance I am forced to.

It started off well, Chris (Boyd) visited and a friendly chat was had about the desired work and the designs required. We had a design back but we didnt know that Chris omitted a critical detail on the extension (60 degree from neighbour window rule) inexplicably, Chris said he knew about this later but had for whatever reason, not told us.

Several months later the planners came back rejecting Chris's extension design and design changes were then made racking costs up significantly it was then i asked if he had know about it and he said yes he had. I wanted it to be a more aesthetically pleasing design than a rectangular (90 degree) 'notch' in the corner but Chris flatly refused (even though I've seen the exact same design on 'your home made perfect'). Chris demanded the council planners not speak to me so none of my request for clarifications on alternative options from Stockton council were responded to (I was forced to as Chris was providing no inspiration whatsoever as he had ghosted me at this point). I eventually phoned Stockton council and had a constructive phone conversation but then I got a very angry Chris phoning me a week later shouting at me asking 'what the hell I was doing talking to the planners'. He had already asked for payment from my wife who had paid him in good faith.

I was very shocked at this and have had no further communication with Chris. Chris has not attempted to apologise either. Chris wouldn't talk to the builder that he had recommended to us either which was rather sad so we had to get everything done again by another designer.

My neighbours had also had a great deal of difficulty with Chris which they described to me in detail after my experience.

To say I'm disappointed is a vast understatement after such a positive start. I just hope Chris learns that this is not how you treat customers who pay him thousands of pounds and gives a more constructive and supportive service in future.

It's just something I have to put down to experience.

I can’t recommend Chris highly enough. His skills, experience and professionalism were invaluable during a recent difficult planning submission for a listed building. Chris drew up the plans, completed the planning submissions and acted as our representative throughout the lengthy process.
We will definitely use PDS Architectural Plans for any future work we undertake.
