We used Reigate Architects to design/draw/get planning approval for our 100+ year old house in a conservation area.

We had a great experience, and Reigate Architects offered design suggestions that we would never have thought of ourselves. They also listened to our requirements and produced the design we wanted - it didn't feel like a cookie cutter response and balanced our desire to keep the personality of the house with improving it!

Their familiarity with the local planning office in terms of knowing what options were even plausible was also invaluable.

Having now completed the work, the house is everything we hoped it would be - lighter, with a better more modern flow, but still feels like the old house is in there somewhere!

We’re delighted with the loft extension that Simon designed for us. It’s beautifully in keeping with the period of the house and looks great inside and out. I called into Reigate Architects' office in early February to ask for urgent help in co-ordinating and resubmitting a planning application for patio doors replacement. As my property is a flat and also in the local Conservation Area full planning was required; and my own initial attempt was rejected as inadequate and non-compliant in a number of ways.

Simon and his team quickly assessed the deficiencies, requested further material details from me, issued required statutory notices - and completed and submitted a new application in a short time.

I found this firm to be professional and friendly, in all departments, and to have an empathy and understanding for client concerns. I think I was I was lucky to find Reigate Architects; they immediately understood the difficulties I had encountered, removed all worries for me and delivered a fast and seamless route to an accepted submission. The fee charged was reasonable, and below what I had anticipated.

We had put off building our extension for some years partly because of the anticipated challenges and upheavals that it would entail. I am pleased to say we have been delighted with both the outcome and the experience of working with Simon.

We had a rough idea of what we wanted but were not fixed in how this should be built. We found Simon an excellent architect to work with in this respect and enjoyed sitting down at the kitchen table with him and pen and paper and talking through different ideas. His final suggestion for the design, which exploited some flexibility in the planning rules, was inspired.

We were also pleasantly surprised by the hassle free nature of the build. Simon managed all interaction with the builders including dealing with the inevitable things that go wrong. I was relieved to leave this to a specialist who we could trust to be on our side. The resulting extension has been a very great pleasure to live in and is much commented on by visitors to the house
